Fixed a wire splice that the PO used a wire nut on. Also took out my license plate lights and fixed a few of the broken wires for them. And I installed my fan shroud.

Scored a power steering pump with brackets and pulley, P/S gearbox, crank shaft pully and hoses for $63 at the pick-n-pull. Now I've got to clean em up and paint them.

Degreased and painted my new(old) power steering gear box. Me and my 9 year old son spent the better part of two hours degreasing and cleaning, unitil he got bored and wanted to go play with the neighbor kid. I was surprised he lasted so long and he told me this was one of his "best days ever". I sure love that kid!

Finished my h-pipe and finished welding my exhaust up.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Over the weekend, I cut out my old trans crossmember and installed the ECE piece, had to remove my exhaust (y-pipe back) and now cant get the exhaust back on. :waah:

Old

New

http://i364.photobucket.com/albums/o...-05-28_946.jpg

I also cleaned up the exhaust (and tip) and painted it where I "clearenced" it. Looks like for nothing... Im going to have to remake the exhaust I think, I hammered on it for awile and test fit it twice, but its still mashed against the crossmember... Oh well, it was too loud anyway, time for a real muffler...

Cleaned Up

Clearenced...

I also swapped out the fuel sender in my 67' for a 3/8" unit and started bending up new 3/8" aluminum line from the tank to the mechanical pump. The truck came from the PO with the smaller 6 cylinder fuel system (5/16" I think) and it seems to kill me on upper RPM's under load. At least Im hoping this is the problem, new intake, fuel filter, new sock (old sender now) and reworked carb havent solved the problem yet. Ill get some pics of it tomorrow.

I took it to a car show. It was a fun day. There were a few old friends there that I hadn't seen in a while. On the way home, another guy in a real nice '67 short fleet and I cruised together for several miles.

One of these day's I'll run into another board member at a local show. It's pretty rare to see more than 3 or 4 of our trucks at an event out here.

I went for a drive last night and when I got home I realized that I had sprung a hole in the radiator. I pulled the radiator and put it in the other truck so that I can take it in to the shop and get it fixed. I sure hope that I don't have to but a new radiator!:m6:

I finally had a chance to install my front sway bar from CPP. The only part I didn't like about the kit was that it comes with plated bolts, I changed them all to stainless.

After 7 years of ownership I have finally been able to put some work into it...
Not quite how I had wanted to go about things but cant use the shop I had planned to do a complete tear down in.

Starting with complete front to back suspension rebuild from CPP.
Got the tie rods in place and front shocks.

The rest to go on soon. Getting some much appreciated help and advice from member Yukon Ratrod.

couple pics.
