Gerald wins the prize!! Whatever that may be...... :haha:

So..... Baseline was 243.04hp & 283.91lb/ft on the first pulls. The very first pull was a little higher, but everything was cool. HP and TQ dropped as it got up to operating temp.

After a few tweaks and letting it cool down to the same temp as pulls 2 and 3, the best pull was 265.75hp & 304.91lb/ft.

Total gain of 22.71hp and 21 lb.ft!

They were pretty impressed with the initial numbers. They said they have only had a few other stock 5.3's on there before, and they averaged 180-200 hp. So after the first couple of runs, they were pretty shocked.

I'm going to upload some videos after i post this, then I'll post 'em up!

Another thing to keep in mind is we are right at 5000' elevation here.

EDIT - If I am doing the math correctly, that comes out to about 315hp at sea level.

That's in line with what my tuner told me. He said these thing are really restricted with all the smog crap on them.

One of the middle pulls. As he started easing into it, it jumped down a gear, so he had to back off and ease into it again.

Doesn't sound too bad! The guy at the end is Chris, board member powell72.

121 mph at just over 5000rpm in 3rd gear. :metal:

The green line is the HP curve from the first pull, and the blue line is the best (last) pull.

but seriously my guess will be 268hp to the tire(lol) after all the tuning. its a high number but you have low miles. so we'll see!

when i took the goat i was disapointed in the # after all the work i did but after the tune he felt like a different animal. smoother, more responsive, etc...

i beg to differ on the winner Bob!! looky here!!! i win!!!!!!:metal::metal::lol:

Stock truck manifolds, 2.25" pipe, generic turbo mufflers, and 3.5' x 18' tips.

Well, the prize...... Gerald was closed with his #'s to the first pulls, and Dennis was closest to the final #'s. So I'll buy you both a beer! :alky:

So.... I'm thinking that after I get the crew cab bought next fall, I'll probably start looking for some better heads and an LS6 cam kit. I don't want to put a converter in it, that's the reason for the LS6 cam. It's probably about as big as I can go and not have to step up.

Good point Dennis. It will be here before you see it in person in July!
And, Bob I like the tire smoke there. And, the pic you just put up is not there.
