Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Alan, A custom tank is looking like the best way to go.. I like the size you have chosen. Any idea how many gallons that holds ??

Still driving myself crazy on the fuel line. I did discover a manual fuel pump that has pipe threads for the inlet and outlet. Link to Summit's PN SUM 250020-1 http://static.summitracing.com/globa...0000-1_w_m.jpg This will fix my AN problems at the pump. I can get a 90* pipe to AN to go up to the carb. http://static.summitracing.com/globa...220251_w_m.jpg What about thoughts of a 1"spacer under the carb to raise the line up to clear the heater hose connection? Still thinking.......... |

Alan that is the same pump that I'm running. Mines the 110GH though. It's made by edelbrock and says it on there.

I finally got some stuff on order. Come-on Big Brown truck.
Had a nice little snow here. It's not much compared to what some get, but it made for a great photo day. Here is the LINK to some pics I shot today. Here is a teaser shot http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...0/DSC_0111.jpg |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Great pictures. Today the family had a snow ball fight for the first time since moving to Georgia. My bulldog didn't know what to make of the white stuff but she played more than the kids did.

That dust boot looks like the one I should have tomorrow from Jeff. I think that one is slips over the end of the MC. Not sure, but it might work.
To me, your headers look just like the Flowtech ones. We got snow here on Thursday night and Friday morning. I had 7 inches at my house. I do not know when we had that much before. It is rare in East Texas...Kids got out of school and work shut down, so we had some fun and threw snowballs too. |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Alan, Just saw this in another thread...Look at post #416 in this thread:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...200082&page=17 I looks like the same carb/fuel line you are using. Looks like his cleared that water outlet fitting... Hope this helps you... |

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Had to go see if the radiator would fit. It's sitting on a 3/4" piece of wood. It fits in the hole. I plan on using the 67-72 truck radiator saddles and top hold downs.

This is the temp inside the shop. ;) http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...r/DSC02080.jpg |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Alan where did the radiator come from?
|
Re: Project Vitamin C-10

Oh......I also ordered the coated Hooker Headers you recommended. |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Good you will really like the fit. Only thing I dont like is the left hooker is a little close to the oil filter
|
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Alan glad to see you making progress. Love the new parts, can't wait to see how the 67-72 truck radiator saddles and hold downs turn out.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Alan is that the same radiator that we saw in the store? It looks like it fits really well.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
:metal: Really nice hardware, Alan.
Are you going to use an anode in that radiator, or is the aluminum going to be a problem with the engine's block material? |

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Another little bit of supposed information:
(When running an aluminum radiator or any aluminum parts in contact with the water jacket, make sure to run a sacrificial anode (usually zinc) to prevent the electro-displacement of the aluminum. This will save the aluminum parts, in short.) http://www.streetrodstuff.com/Articl...g_Suggestions/ |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Readiator looks good in there Alan.
Good catch Mac. I didn't know that. I guess I need to get one for mine. |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Allan it's looking great. Good info Mac. I never thought of that. We have an anode in our Toy Hauler's water heater. It wears out so check it periodicity.
|
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
nice work alan and thanks for the pictures:metal:.
And thanks Mac for the info. |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Thanks for that info Mac that's good to know when I go to order mine.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Thanks Guys for the comments. Thanks Mac for the heads up. I'll go read those links tonight I hope. Just a quick post here to let ya'll know about the headers. I'm going crazy. I believe alot of my problems, if not all are the CPP perches. I need the front tube to go up and back. I got my Hookers today and test fitted the left side. I couldn't even get a bolt started. I'm going to write CPPJeff and see if they recommend a certain header. Also do some searching.
http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02082.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02083.jpg You can see the tube hitting the frame, but even if it didn't the perch would. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02084.jpg |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
I hate to say this Allan, but remember way back when we all talked about notching the frame. Stop beating yourself up about this. Cut it real clean and touch up the paint. I don't think the frame will be compromised. What do ya think?

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
thats why they are called "headaches"
does it have to be that style long tube header? shortys perhaps? |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
I don't know what to say. I would have to see it in person. I'll be right over tomorrow to take a peek. :burnout:
All kidding aside. I wish I was closer to see if I could help you out. |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Alan I'm sorry your having such problems. I wonder if CPP could make there pearch mount under the top rail of the frame. Do you think if you had the stock mounts they would work with those headers. I have a pair I could measure for you. If they dont fit and you cant sell those headers I'll ask the ol lady and get them from you. Mine are painted and I hate it.
