Second pic is the delphi 1.50 and 1.0 connectors that i got from Waytec to make my harness
|
Re: PO has me PO'd
I used a 'D' crimp on the uninsulated part of the connecter and a 'C' crimp on the insulation part of the wire. Your sizes may vary depending on your crimper
I start with one size larger to get a pre crimp, just to make sure everything looks right http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5518/1...9afbc2e2_c.jpg 20140117_112720 by james_jaros, on Flickr Finished up fuel pump, the wire dividers (blue and grey) can be a little fiddly ( sorry, must be to much wheeler/dealers) but, can be done without breaking Alittle more work on the rails Now, just to run green wire back to relay, and black to ground http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3701/1...9eea1fc7_c.jpg 20140117_115858 by james_jaros, on Flickr |
Re: PO has me PO'd
I've been watching the build for awhile - just want to say awesome work, I wish I had the talent and skills to do a similar build. Pete

Working a nut plate, to mount my filler neck to tank Gotta say this forum is a very cool place to hang out, nice guys! Nice trucks you have Pete, gotta love that blazer |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Well, the men from Michigan have been very generous indeed.....sent 10" this time, but it does give me time to work on the nutplate
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5532/1...6fa89704_c.jpg 20140121_231038 by james_jaros, on Flickr |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Got the nutplate finished, waiting on 6/32" ss bolts, not much room for anything larger. Had to counter bore plate (about .075 ) to allow for stud head welded to the tank, then used 10/32" setscrews to keep the plate from moving around
Now i can use the old filler neck to drill holes in the tank Just wanted to be able to drop the tank easily when it comes time to change out fuel pump Rubber gasket is next to make, between filler neck and tank http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5546/1...41783498_c.jpg 20140124_113133 by james_jaros, on Flickr http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2820/1...45f4bd93_c.jpg 20140124_112728 by james_jaros, on Flickr |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Filler neck fitted up to tank, may require small amount of dimpling where it goes over frame.....ordered 1 3/8" soft rubber hose from filler neck supply co.(can bend 90 degrees in 11.5")
Now i can work on the vent that i got from tanks inc. and that should be the end of my tank mod. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5507/1...49b20516_c.jpg 20140211_122453 by james_jaros, on Flickr |
Re: PO has me PO'd
I got it, one final pic. before i go off steel head fishing for the week. Hose was from filler neck supply inc....2.50 an inch, but well worth it as that was the final piece of the puzzle, hose is 12" long
Stay thirsty my friends http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2884/1...cf21672c_c.jpg 20140215_210119 by james_jaros, on Flickr |

I think ill get back into the ecu wiring and clean that up, finish up some stray wires and put new shielding on the bundles, maybe wrap in some tin foil, to protect from noise |

Started to mount up the bracket for the tank rollover vent, a good spot seems to be front side of the taillight bulkhead
Finally played with the present from Mrs. Claus, having a flat base seems to work for long cuts on sheetmetal http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3827/1...cf552610_c.jpg 20140225_115514 by james_jaros, on Flickr |

This forum and all the guys on it, along with a few wonderful locals helped me to be a good builder. Tons and tons of info and help, all at the click of a few buttons. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Thanks AJ, Big J and Rick....
Sorry aj, but fishing is my second fav. thing to do, so i thought it should be documented:lol: I agree with you, this board has helped alot, i can see how a mod. will look before i do it, change anything and then go about replicating it. Helps to be able to see it in my mind first, great fab skills from our member board. Wished i had some..... Yeah Rick up by you, 1/2 north of Syracuse, Salmon River at Altmore. Just saw a pic. of youre spare tire mount, you really ought to clean your interior once in awhile, j/k:lol: Thanks for the compliments, i try hard to make it perfect, because 60,000 motorheads are watching! |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Had a couple moments to work on some areas.....installed distributor, worked on some vacuum problems(i need more ports - trans., vacuum gauge, P/B, cruise control). Bought an couple adapters(NPT to JIC) abit ugly, so i ordered one adapter to shorten the whole assembly. Problem is, i know nothing about how much vacuum i need, so, ill bore the fitting out larger then what i have and hope for the best......unless, someone has a better idea!
Found a place to mount dual stick emergency brake, now just have to make cables https://v4s2.yimg.com/sk/3687/129544...7506b610_c.jpg 20140305_135951 by james_jaros, on Flickr https://v4s2.yimg.com/sk/3799/129544...42f036f4_c.jpg 20140303_122413 by james_jaros, on Flickr |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Cool setup with the dual e-brake, what are your plans for a console? Or will the handles be hidden inside?
|
Re: PO has me PO'd
OK, I'll bite, why 2 e-brake levers?

Well, if you put it in front two wheel drive, and lock a single rear wheel, then turn in that direction, your turning radius is deminished. Basically, spinning on your rear axle Thanks for looking |
Re: PO has me PO'd
So much of your project has been centered around the detail work, I'd forgotten it was a 4wd. But yea I get it, very cool, I can see that being a very handy thing.... and here I was thinking about it being some drifting thing
