Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Man, I gotta get me some of them…
Like the update, the ride height looks perfect. Bet its more fun working on the truck when you're not under the gun. Fun is just one of the rewards…. Keep after it bro. |

Neat Pedal car design... https://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5710/3...ab6ea01e_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr ...Oh yeah, almost forgot... 4 of the rubber pieces I asked about are now installed in both door jambs, sorry no pic... Still have the 2 flat ones, still at a loss for where they go...:chevy: Laterz...:burnout: |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Cool little hot wheel.
Do those 2 flat ones go on the dash in the upper corners of the glove box opening? The ones for the glove box door to hit against when its closed? |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Thanks for the place of honor on the glass.

We cooked together, ate, and relaxed... ;) ...as for stepper time, that's the plan... gotta pull the water pump I installed recently and warranty it out for another one. It seems, during the reman process, the plug that needs to be removed to add the fitting for a heater hose was cross threaded and I am unable to remove. :banghead: Will pull another one off the shelf today and remove plug before leaving the store... I plan on driving the stepper often, so heat will be a necessity... during the process of changing to the factory aluminum intake, I located the temp sensor in the heater hose boss in the intake, so another hurdle is to relocate the temp sensor as well...:dohh: I also need to troubleshoot the blower motor as it won't switch on... all new wiring, fan tested off the truck spins when voltage applied... ahhh, the joys of old trucks...;):chevy: Here's a pic of the door bumpers installed, at least on the driver's side. Passanger side installed as well but no pic... https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5330/3...cfe4196a_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Working today and tomorrow then off Sunday & Monday!:hot: Enjoy guys and gals!!! |

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Great visiting with you yesterday.
It really helps to have a coconspirator or two to keep up the momentum even at my laid back pace. . |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Your trucks pics are looking good and by the way that thread on artsy truck pics is very cool.
My progress always slows down this time of year with the cold weather and Holiday season but we'll get back to it soon. Till then... Have a wonderful Christmas bro. |

Update coming soon... In case no one has noticed, I haven't installed the wiper arms to date... Recently I found a mod on Fb to change the ends to J hook style, making replacement blades easier to find...:uhmk: Yesterday, a friend dropped off 2 FREE donor arms...:metal: PICS SOON!!! |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Started looking at the wiper mod... but first...
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! https://c7.staticflickr.com/1/673/31...f44d8750_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Here are the Free to me "J" hook arms... https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/255/31...0fc6b511_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Next to the originals... https://c3.staticflickr.com/1/702/31...068f6c92_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Here's a shot of the new arm next to the OEM part... https://c8.staticflickr.com/1/423/30...30bd124c_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr The new arm is wider, so the plan is to cut and weld to graft the new onto the old...:mm: but that'll have to wait to another day, as it is currently 21 degrees in the shed and no heat... Staying warm this afternoon...;) |
Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Cool idea! I had one of the little plastic spacers break on mine. Down to just the drivers side wiper lol.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Happy New Year's!!! :ennyd:
DON'T DRINK N DRIVE!!!:tim: Today started off with me getting some decent tires mounted on the 20's I had traded off and ended up with again...;) Been needing to replace the 15's due to issues with the front drop spindles and the lowering blocks in the rear... Getting the tires mounted and balanced...FREE! Gotta love contacts in the automotive industry...;) https://c6.staticflickr.com/1/560/32...bf86a71e_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Since rain was falling and then a heavy mist until dark, The tires were put on the back burner... I cut and welded the wiper arms, and applied the first coat of paint... then it cooled off too much to paint again... Here is a pic of the original next to the modified original... https://c2.staticflickr.com/1/683/32...ffe4cd80_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr ...and one more... https://c7.staticflickr.com/1/491/31...00d2f6c3_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr More to come after more painting tomorrow...:chevy: Hello 2017!!! |

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Test fit the wipers at dusk last evening... Still a minor tweaking needed. :o
In this position, about an inch or so of the blades are resting on the Windshield molding, so a bit of a bend, or pie cut and re-weld, needed to get the proper angle...:uhmk: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/648/31...20d04323_c.jpgUntitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr The back side of the wiper switch disintigrated during the re-installation, so another switch will be fitted now that the wipers are near serviceable... And the blower motor isn't coming on with the switch, I bench tested the blower motor and it spun when power was applied... but with the OE switch and wiring in place, nothing...:banghead: Have I mentioned how I detest electrical issues??? On top of those items, I now need to change the track bar, to an adjustable one, seems the lowering springs dropped the rear enough to cause the OE bar to bind causing one side of the frame to ride higher than the other...:sumo: Although this was semi-expected I also hoped I could get away with using the stock bar...NOPE!!! Just more Old Truck Modifying fun!!! :metal: Till next time...:truck: |
