Yessir... had a nice quiet Thanksgiving... me, the missus and the dog...:bann:
We cooked together, ate, and relaxed... ;) ...as for stepper time, that's the plan... gotta pull the water pump I installed recently and warranty it out for another one. It seems, during the reman process, the plug that needs to be removed to add the fitting for a heater hose was cross threaded and I am unable to remove. :banghead:
Will pull another one off the shelf today and remove plug before leaving the store... I plan on driving the stepper often, so heat will be a necessity... during the process of changing to the factory aluminum intake, I located the temp sensor in the heater hose boss in the intake, so another hurdle is to relocate the temp sensor as well...:dohh: I also need to troubleshoot the blower motor as it won't switch on... all new wiring, fan tested off the truck spins when voltage applied... ahhh, the joys of old trucks...;):chevy:

Here's a pic of the door bumpers installed, at least on the driver's side. Passanger side installed as well but no pic...

The new arm is wider, so the plan is to cut and weld to graft the new onto the old...:mm: but that'll have to wait to another day, as it is currently 21 degrees in the shed and no heat...:eek: Staying warm this afternoon...;)

Today started off with me getting some decent tires mounted on the 20's I had traded off and ended up with again...;) Been needing to replace the 15's due to issues with the front drop spindles and the lowering blocks in the rear...:confused:
Getting the tires mounted and balanced...FREE! Gotta love contacts in the automotive industry...;)

Since rain was falling and then a heavy mist until dark, The tires were put on the back burner... I cut and welded the wiper arms, and applied the first coat of paint... then it cooled off too much to paint again...

Test fit the wipers at dusk last evening... Still a minor tweaking needed. :o

In this position, about an inch or so of the blades are resting on the Windshield molding, so a bit of a bend, or pie cut and re-weld, needed to get the proper angle...:uhmk:

The back side of the wiper switch disintigrated during the re-installation, so another switch will be fitted now that the wipers are near serviceable...

And the blower motor isn't coming on with the switch, I bench tested the blower motor and it spun when power was applied... but with the OE switch and wiring in place, nothing...:banghead: Have I mentioned how I detest electrical issues???:crazy:

On top of those items, I now need to change the track bar, to an adjustable one, seems the lowering springs dropped the rear enough to cause the OE bar to bind causing one side of the frame to ride higher than the other...:sumo: Although this was semi-expected I also hoped I could get away with using the stock bar...NOPE!!! Just more Old Truck Modifying fun!!! :metal:
