Didn't get anything done last week, busy with other things. I did get to the shop on Saturday, and got the two doors, wet sanded with 600 paper. Today I did the pass. front fender with 600 wet. These are now ready for final paint...Jim

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Jim, is that a one piece hood or did you do something to the original two piece?
I like the solid look and have been thinking about what to do. Thanks. |

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Hi Jim,
I love your truck! I had binge-read the whole build some time back and filed it away in my "completed builds" folder. Imagine my shock at tuning in and finding it with a fender in primer a few days back. Anyway, I binged it again and got caught up. I loved seeing you post where you were able to take your wife out for a ride, that is so awesome. Keep up the great work sir! - Richard |

A little update on work. On Friday, Mark removed all the old plastic. Then on Saturday the two of us vaccumed the light fixtures, rail, etc., to removing as much dirt as we could. We installed new plastic on the south and west walls. (didn't take pics till Sunday).

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
I wish I could paint, but watching you makes me wonder about my sanity, wanting to paint! You do make it look worthwhile though. Hmmm....

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
8Man.....Painting is only half of it, Its more of the prep work that is important. Everything bad under the paint shows through.
Dad (Oldman3) showed me how to paint many years ago, get yourself a gun and practice. Nothing to it but to do it! Mark |

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Thank you Ray!
I think I've done pretty good considering the small town we're in won't get rich by any means, but do enjoy what I do. Mark |
Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Reaper, I may have to try. I used to do the prep work for my dad. I am all too familiar with how much work goes in to the prep. He just never let me in the garage when he was painting. And in a typical fatherly way it was always, "you can't do it right." So now it's a bit of a phobia.
Ya'll do nice work. Looking forward to seeing it go back together. |
