Shannon came over and help get the brake lines routed, to make sure there weren't any issues. Really didn't have any problems, just a couple minor ones. Once I got started I realized I didn't take into consideration that the 67-72 frt inner fender wheels are different than 60-66. I thought I would have some clearance issues, But there weren't any problems. For those that don't remember or haven't seen all my build. I used brake lines for a 72 since that is what I used to convert my 6 lugs to 5 lugs. I started at the master cylinder and went back. I still had the old porportioning valve from the 72 and had a fitting coming off the rear that had 2 ports on it. I can't remember how it was ran on the 72. I figured I had to use it. Long story short I eliminated it. If I'm doing something wrong please chime in. I'm going to try to find a pic of a factory 72 setup to see what's supposed to look like. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02138.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02139.jpg I'm not too happy with the front line. One straight portion has a lot of lumps in it. It looks like I bent it. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02140.jpg Need some fittings to get these tied together. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02143.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02144.jpg I ordered some tranny cooler lines gambling that they would line up with the summit radiator. I think they are workable. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...y/DSC02141.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...y/DSC02145.jpg Gotta go thru and tighten and clamp everything down, so overall it was succesful. |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Looks good Alan.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Alan,
What radiator did you use and where did you get it from? Also how much? |

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
looking good , on the brake fitting , it is for a trailer brake controler , if you look it says tekonsha on it so your right in taking it out,
The 45 degree flares should seal up ok as long as the nuts engage enough thread. and again some very nice workmanship!!!:metal: |

Getting ready to build the brakes in the rear. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02152.jpg The mod I did to the crossmember to make it work with 72 brake lines worked out perfect. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02153.jpg Shannon is bringing a bracket over tonight to mount the T on the rearend. Also talked to the Truck Shop and they will send out another front prop valve line to frame to replace the lumpy one. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC02154.jpg |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Great mod on the rear, i did the same but didnt think about it until after it was painted

That's what I like about you Allan. Being honest. :metal: If you try hard you can probably do it. But would it worth it? |

Shannon came over to supervise me on my 3rd attempt on the fuel line. Bending tubing is getting a little easier, but I've got a lot to learn. Practice, practice, practice. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC02171.jpg Yours truely. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC02173.jpg The line is done. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC02174.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC02175.jpg |

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
The tubs look sweet - and the power steering plumbing is primo!
This build's got to be made into an illustrated catalog - I'd pay $50 for it in a heart-beat. Best work I've ever seen, or even heard about. Mac. :metal: |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10

Tried to put the rear ebrake cables in tonight. They are wrong. Here is a pic of the old and the new. I ordered PN 63-15516 for 63-65 1/2 ton SB. Updated edit. It is probably my fault. I forgot I used the 72 trailing arms. LINKY to a question I posted. Researching still. |
