Dude, just started reading this thread today, and fortunately I had to hit "last page" to see how it looks finished--so I saw to vote. I just got in under the wire with the 1249th vote, so I had to get on another computer and get a smooth 1250! If I'm reading the current results right, you are smoking every other vehicle by about a thousand votes! Super build thread, and truly a Slick 67!

You mentioned that your intake is a knock-off, with the Chev PN and the snowflake, etc. Where did it come from?

I just got completely through your thread up to this point! Again EXCELLENT--the truck, the thread, the inspiration, the pinups;), all of it! You should get a gig in PR, or instruction, or something like that!

This video from Wilcox Corvette about tach restoration tells you how to "zero" a factory tach. If the truck tach is similar to the one in the video, it might help you on the one you 'stole' at Pate. It's an electric vette tach, not a mechanical.

I found the intake on Craigs here in Houston. The intake is a Chevy OEM intake but was a replacement to the original through the dealerships. It is my understanding they did not make an aluminum intake like this but did offer them aftermarket from dealerships.....I could be mistaken.

Thank You! I really hoped my learning curve would help someone in the future, guess it is! I am gonna watch the vid and see what I can do to get my tach ready for install, I sure appreciate you posting that for me!

Well, since you mentioned that---some of us are trying to get a spot and time together to meet up at the Goodguys LoneStar Nat March 15-17. I'd like to find a format to reach out to Houston, San Antonio, etc members also. I don't know how many pay attn to the regional threads. Any input you have on making it work will be appreciated!

Your truck is really nice. I went through most of your thread (little reading, but mostly pic gawking) and am just in awe at the amount of work you put into it. Very nice! I bet there's more people with whiplash (from turning their head to look at your truck) in TX than ever before now. :-) You should be proud.

Just a quick question: Did you cut the cab corners for some reason or is that just how they were in 67? Hadn't seen that or paid attention I guess.

First off, thank you Whitey for taking the time to flip through my thread!!! It was a long process and tons of work, but worth it everytime I see someone almost wreck because of looking!!! :metal: The cab corners had been bent up and creased by the PO who had ran the exhaust tightly under the body. I thought that was going to be the case with how mine would be run but it didn't turn out that way, although the extra room helped with muffler clearance in the end. Good eye!!!

Well I never though of that for exhaust clearance but I can see how that would help and wouldn't effect looks in anyway. Ill keep that idea tucked away and break it out if I ever need it. Hope to get to see your truck in person someday, jut not while I'm driving mine so I don't wreck it while rubbernecking at yours. :-)

HAHAHa. There are better ways to do it, like running it through the crossmember, but mine was already that way. I would love to take my truck around the US and enjoy all the shows but time and money would run out quickly!
