Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Well I Finely Broke down and had to Sale my Truck.
LOL Yeah right to that. I have to much invested into this one to sale lol. any how I did good yesturday Finely Sold the Donor I got the Bed and Frame and some other parts off of. and the good news is I fixed it back up decent enough to sale for just around the same price I purchased it for and saved a donor instead of trashing it. so I think I gained in this project just under 3k so now the good thing will be that money will go directly into this project to get it on the road this summer i hope..yay I am stoked! |
Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Nothing on mine, but spent the day installing a stereo in a friend's 64 C10. Dash was already cut, but had to make speaker boxes for under the seat and in front of the B&M shifter.
Got done just in time to go to work. |
Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
replaced diverter box in air con/heat system and cleaned all other duct work. my "S" duct is damaged so I gotta order another. I adjusted all the cables to ensure full movement and eyeballed every aspect of the system. I rubbed some "bay rum oil" from Plum Island Soap Company in the duct work to condition it and give it a little odor. :}
added a chrome water pump from Jegs and had the lower bolt hole of my a/c bracket welded back together. U never know what u r gonna find when u start digging in these old rods. I added a spring to my passenger side kick panel door vent that will close the door when I switch back to the "outside" air mode. took me forever to figure out how to get that damn door to close on it own. gave the carpet a hair cut where the mats have opened some of the loops. Washed and detailed the engine and suspension. Washed the body also. Installed 2 new parking lamp assemblies in the front bumper. changed the oil and filter. busy boy!!! |
Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Took her for a 30 minute cruise this morning. Found I have a short in the turn signal switch causing some brake light issues.
Picked up new turn signal switch after another 30 minute cruise this evening. Filled my Camaro tank all the way up for the first time. Fills great no issues and the gas gauge reads pretty darn close to perfect. The kids at the gas station loved the truck and couldn't help but smile as I rolled in blaring Sublime's- Love is What I got. |
Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Got my CaptainFab booster bracket in the mail and picked up a York compressor for On Boar Air...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Unloaded the freshly sandblasted/painted brake drums, 1-inch stabilizer bar, upper and lower control arms and transmission crossmember from my '96. Mocked up the transmission crossmember, then posed a question on here about correct placement.
Life is good. |
Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I relocated my Prop Valve to the frame, then I flared and bent my own brake lines.
Also installed my fender well after remolding it to get rid of some factory bends that do not need to be there to give it a clean smooth look. Attachment 756687 Attachment 756688 Attachment 756689 Attachment 756690 Attachment 756691 |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Started DA-ing my cab. It doesn't take long once you start sanding to see just how messed up your stuff is. These trucks really were built as trucks, go figure.

Did you route those inside your fenderlip into the core support area? Really clean and something I've always wanted to do! |

I routed them straight down to the frame and bent the right side one far enough to line directly up to where it connects. I will have to either pull it away from the firewall a bit more or purchase some fasteners to keep it from vibrating and rubbing along my firewall, at the time I was more thinking of a clean look and didnt cross my mind about vibrations. also I was thinking on modifying my fenderwells to cover all the way over the frame to hide some extra area's so they may have to run through my fenderwells any how. Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Changed out my old turn signal switch. One of the wires caught in the wheel and shorted the switch out. Took it out and fixed the short. Back in and on the road again. My and my two boys(7&9) went for a short cruise to the parts store to get a new flasher relay. Went to a small auto show today and checked out some nice rides. My wife and kids wanted to go so we all went. Nice to have something the family enjoys.
