Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
I don't even know the gas prices around here anymore. It seems every time I drive past a station(s) there is a different price.

I think about this often. How fortunate this area is. I took a Trip to Missouri which was Out of pocket for me.:uhmk: So, I filled up here. Then on the way back I needed gas Again;) So, I passed some that was $0.30 higher  Then all the sudden no exits had gas stations. I was in No man's land. Luckly I got to the next station without Running out.:ito: And it was only $0.15 cents higher. For a minute I thought I was going to be Hoofing it. I was a Lucky dog Again  |
Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
A couple of weeks back we went to Florida for a week and was surprised to find gas only 25 to 30 cents higher than ours in the low $3 range.
No more than we drive around home I am usually able to fill up when the price is at it's lowest and drive on that through the next rise and fall. Doesn't always work, but sometimes it does. When it does, I feel like it's a WIN! Currently ours dropped this week to $3.14. |
Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
$ 5.55 per gal today! Yippee! :(

Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
Around here it varies quite a bit from one side of town to the other, somewhere between $3.45-$3.65

Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
The unthinkable has happened!
A couple weeks ago our gas was $6 / gallon, then a few days ago it dropped by 10 cents. Fine. Yesterday it went to $5.50, a four-bits cut in just a few days time! Pardon my excitement -- it's such an odd event, I just had to share. :chevy: |

Re: Gas Prices - Part 2

I Noticed we are $2.98 a gallon. Two weeks ago we were at $3.29 at some places. I have been watching and just wondering? There is 4 gas stations close together that I can Almost predict the price tommorrow :uhmk: |
Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
Really hard to find under 5 bucks these days

Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
Gas stops along the same street usually tend to be within a few cents of each other. Across town is a different story.
I remember some 40 years ago a small no name gas stop across the street from a large Exxon gas stop was told by owners to stay at least 2 cents a gallon below anywhere else. They said if the others drop theirs to 2 cents per gallon, start giving it away! Now days, at least around here, these guys are all over the place in regards to prices and patterns. |

Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
There is something funny going on here. There is a Speedway station a few miles outside the outerbelt that has been consistently a minimum of 20 cents lower than anyplace else. They were $2.99 and most others where at least $3.19, some at $3.25. This was all over the last couple of weeks, fairly stable.
Then last week it went upsidedown. Now that station is higher than the competitors, not by much $3.15 vs $3.25, but why? When I was young, working in a Shell station, the margin was about $0.04/gal. It varied slightly, a fraction of a penny or so, but that's it. Today it must be substantially higher, but I have no idea how high? |
Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
Down as low as $3.05 in most places
|
Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
Locally here in our little town 87 octane corn squezzins is $3.19, in the "big city" aka Wichita I heard $3.11 but haven't seen it with my own eyes. Probably next week when have I have to make a Wichita run will check into that.

Re: Gas Prices - Part 2
3.29 was the cheapest on Tuesday when I topped off. I used midgrade in the Bronco but I had .60 cents in fuel points so I paid 2.99 per gal.
