Thursday. The guy told me the frost wall (short one) will only take about 1/2 an hour but the retaining wall (rebar pic) will be most of the day. It's an 8ft wall with a small return into the house foundation, then at the driveway end it has a 45 degree turn that will taper down to 6ft. It's going to allow me to level out the upper yard a lot. |

Kurt,
Which cross member are you talking about using for the engine. Josh |

It's a DIY cross member. Got it because I'm going to run a 700r and wanted to be able to reposition things if needed. |

This is like a superstore build thread. You stop in just to pick up one thing the next thing you know you are leaving with a whole cart full.

DIY parts I received a couple weeks ago, 1st pic.
Almost ready to pour the walls, should happen today. Pics 2 & 3. My home construction site - pic 4. (freakin mess) Quick edit/addition: Other parts that have arrived also are: *700r tourque converter. *TPI serp belt assembly. *700r lock-up kit. If I had any space left in my basement I could start on the motor, maybe I will when the valve covers get here... |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
These mornings lately are getting chilly..... you're going to be graduating from fresh-air kid, to warm-workshop man just in time!!
It will be great to make steady progress all winter long. There's nothing like walking out into your own manspace on a Saturday morning with a hot cup of coffee, and being able to get to business in a warm, organized and well-lit area. Congrats on all the progress... |

Lord knows you're a lucky man, couple dollars in a coffee can, ol' ticker's ticking like they say it should, ol' truck's still running good...you're a lucky, lucky man
two outa three ain't bad:lol: Kan't wait for mine to get here, Kurt said he was going to square it off more, on the crosstube, for oil pan clearance. Is that the shackle flip in the pic. as well |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
The soil looks really sandy, is all the soil like that up there?

Oh...your still bustin' on me about my diesel eh? :sumo: Quote:
The guy had me dug in about an hour it was so easy. J/K, some areas are pretty sandy but the norm is dark/boney soil for the most part with a lot of ledge. |

This weekend is all about hydraulic cement and tar, then backfill and clean up the mess come the work week. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
good layout. It'll be nice to be able to plow in front of the doors without having to backdrag everything.
