Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
I really like your 62. One of the guys I work with has a 57 almost the same color. I have a 62 that I am in the middle of. I just through the cab on the frame today so I can move it down to Fort Bragg. Nice work!

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Finally was able to work on the truck today. So I cut off the bent and broken horn and welded on the replacement. I also installed the windows seals and rear view mirrors. I still have a few more things to do before I can go get the exhaust done and start driving it.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
I finally got around to dropping the column and remounting the turn signal switch. The cable I used was from a 62 Impala and it was too short. So I cut the cable sleeve and mounted the switch closer to the steering wheel. It works now. I still need to get my horn to work and get a new exhaust before I can go get it inspected.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Thanks for the comments. For the past two days I have been working on repainting the front grill. I used duple-color and the clear for some reason was sticky and go all kinds of trash in it so I sanded it and repainted it with semi gloss white. Something happened and the paint bubbled up. So I guess I will strip it down to the metal and start over. I would do it but I'm going to look at a 2014. I am thinking about trading in my 2010.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
I worked on my grill today. I had it painted before but the duple-color clear didn't dry right and had a bunch of trash in it. I painted it with rustoleum semi-closs white and it took a while to get it right. For some reason the cans are so full you can't rattle the can until you spray out about a1/4 of it. The first 1/4 comes out with globs and it kept messing up my paint job. I also added the blue letters to the grill. Since I got it out I washed it , it was real dirty setting inside the garage. Here is a pic of it with my new 2014.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Looks good John. Nice new one as well. I assume you will be modding it as well to fit your taste like your 2010.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Yes a little, I already switched the wheels when I got it. Next is rear leveling shackle then brake caliper covers then color match bow ties. I thank will be it for this ride. I am tempted to color match all the chrome again. These trucks look sick with no chrome on them. The blue truck is coming along ok. I need to finish the door panels and get the horn to work. I think I need all new parts to make it work. Let me know when you are going to paint, I learned some things with spraying that flatz.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Painted and installed my door panels yesterday. I had to pull the window regulator apart two times yesterday because the window coming off the track. I can't wait to get to a stopping point. I still have to fix the radio mount and touch up all the over spray on the doors..

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
I am finally working on the radio mount. I should have done this when the truck was in the fab/ metal stage but now I'm doing it. The truck had a dealer installed radio in it from another car. So the holes are not cut right and off center so the new radio won't fit correctly. So I cut it out and started to weld it in. It's not done yet but here is the start of the taking process. I hope to get it welded in tomorrow. I sold some of my 2010 parts so now I can get an exhaust for the truck.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Looks good John. Is that a patch panel or did you make it? I think I will do the same to mine. I didn't really want to use the whole patch panel they sell. I have thought about filling in the ash tray hole and fitting some gauges there. There is no use for an ash tray in my truck.

Re: 1962 chevy c10 update.
Bret, it's a patch panel that I cut. I didn't want to replace the whole thing either. Thanks, TJ!
