Update: I have the axel and trailing arms out, cleaned and painted them last weekend and the blocks and u-bolts are in as well as the trailing arm bushing. I will install them in a couple of weeks when I get back from Las Vega. Leaving tomorrow on a company trip 1st time every going. whar are you using for the rear floor and tubs? Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: 72 Suburban Started
Not sure, we are going to build a new floor .. raised if necessary .. the intent is to hide everything under it but still make it accessible.

Re: 72 Suburban Started
looks good laid out!! what are you going to do with the stock rear fuel line to the gas tank? im trying to address some issues with all the stock hosing and stuff back there before i take it around the block.
you can see in post 120 pic #2, it ends up going to the middle of the axle. is it going to stay like that, or are you going to bend it around the notch? trying to figure out some ideas because im working on that now... |
Re: 72 Suburban Started
I ordered the 2 piece SS fuel lines kit but I will have to cut it off and use A.N fitting and ss braided fuel line to the tank not real sure untill I reach that point, I am thinking about building the floor from 3/4 angle with raised floor and 1/2 hard wood flooring for the rear floor but 100% sure yet. I have a lot of ideas but no fixed plan...

Re: 72 Suburban Started

Re: 72 Suburban Started
too far from texas made2drag..
i just ordered that same brake kit but in oem..i think i will leave it going across the axle like this, then mount it to a tab i will weld to the stock brake tab on the axle...not pretty by any means but it should be functional and covered up by the floor. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...ps125a6704.jpg |
Re: 72 Suburban Started
Scratch that...im gonna bend it along the notch and attach another bent up line around the rest of the notch and connect the 2 with a very small hose...then connect the hose from the tank to end of the line. Dumb idea above....lol

What are you going to do one the drivers side where the rust is in front of the rear wheel?

Re: 72 Suburban Started
Inter structure is not too bad, just going to cut out the cancer and I have a truck panel that I am going to cut up and use. It is not the same but I will make the needed changes to make it work. I have been ordering parts and next month I will get back started on the build.
