If you want the blue just a little bit darker, look for a picture of a 1968 Corvette in LeMans blue. That's what I plan on using.;)

Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
Wait, no need to search. I have a bud with a 68 Corvette in LeMans blue. That's where I fell for the color. I took these pictures for him Sunday.

^^^Nice!!! The car is sweet. I think I want a bit darker though. And now I'm thinking chrome yellow & brilliant silver. As you can see, I'm not dead set on a color

I don't get that lucky nowhere near as often as he does. Anyway, I've become somewhat chicken picking out new and different colors. Seems like every single time wifey and I head to Lowe's and pick a color for a room we want to repaint it turns out way different than that little 1"x1.5" square color sample we based our choice on. We don't pick house paint anymore, we pay someone to. Justpball hit a grand slam with that root-beer over cream thing he did with his 'Burb - it'd look sinfully good on your truck with little to no interior color changes. Or if you don't like it for your project and want to go further outside the box, I wish you better luck than I have picking colors.;) |

Love the blazer, great work. It has really come a long ways. I paged through your build thread to find wheel/tire size but could only find tire size.
front - 255/50 R18 rear - 295/45 R18 What is the size of your wheels? 18x8 and 18x9.5 ?? |
Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
^^^ Yeah, 18x8 in front & 18x9.5 in the rear. I am using the original production run wheels so I believe the backspacing is a bit different than the newer ones. I'll see what I can find out if you need to know backspacing too.
And thanks for the compliment! Ed |
Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
Thanks for the reply Ed. Yeah, if you could find out the backspacing that would be great.
|
Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
It looks like my wheels have 4.5" backspacing on the fronts and 5" of backspacing on the rears. I couldn't have asked for a better fit with the combination of suspension I have on Da' Bull :).

Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
I am in the process of removing the TH400 and putting in a '91 model 4L60 (fancy talk for a 700r4) in to better accommodate the 28 3/4" rear tire and the 3.42 gear. I had to shorten the d@mn drive shaft again!!! I hope to have it done tomorrow evening.
Then I have to figure out how to make the TV cable work properly. I am using the Bowtie Overdrive "Brake Kit" to control the lock-up. I changed the reluctor wheel type speedo pickup to the mechanical setup with the correct drive gear and driven gear to work with my combo and put in a Corvette servo before installing. :) |
Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
I've been working so much that I haven't really had much time to work on the Bull, but I finally got around to putting the 4L60 (700r4) tranny in it this weekend. Other than some stupid little issues, it went pretty much without a glitch. I haven't finalized the TV cable, or completed the Bowtie Overdrive Brake switch controller, but I did take it for a quick spin just to see how it felt.
It pull like a fool and shift very smooth with just enough firmness (corvette servo...I assume) and when it shifts into overdrive it runs down the road at a very comfortable RPM. And the speedo appears to be dead on :metal: I have to get started on the body work, or find a 73-75 donor body ;) |

I was wondering which feature car it was. I really like them both. Thought I would slip in a picture of my new driver, it's an '87 GT 'vert, black w/ white leather. I really like the fox platform, this is my 6th Mustang, and I have had a bunch (10) Mark VIIs, too.

^^^ Nice ride!!! I like the wheels, those are very hard to come by.
I had triple black '89 GT way back in the day. I have 3 right now (all convertibles) and have had a baker's dozen so far. The fox body car's are my favorite besides the '66-'69 cars (I've never actually had the chance to own one of those though :( ). Here's a quick pic of what I'm doing to the Yellow car (don't hate me because I'm not a purist ) |
Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
My '90 'vert was triple black, too. Looks great, but not ideal in Texas heat.
|
Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
I lived in Sherman, Tx. when I had my '89. And that's why I got rid of the triple black!
|
Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
 thats funny.... i've had 6 fox bodies myself! loved them dearly. used to think they were the fastest thing on the road! they probably were back then though;)
|
Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
Bet my '86 is faster than that Goat of yours Dennis ;)

Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named

Re: My "New" '76 2wd TOY...currently un-named
351 Windsor stroked to 427 cubic inches, with a small blower (10 lbs. of boost). Just shy of 500 rwhp on 91 octane gas :). But really want to turbo charge it :metal:
