Re: Progress on my woman's '65 Short/Fleet.
Nice work!!! I think the truck looks great in the 'mock up' pic. Now with the engine spinning you're really gonna hit it.

Re: Progress on my woman's '65 Short/Fleet.
Thanks guys! Yesterday she ordered the patch panels and inner braces for the fenders. Her brother is going to patch those and the inner fenders for us. After that we will assemble it. Hopefully in time to be able to take it to the Rumblers show in Albuquerque! That's on the 23rd so keep your fingers crossed everyone!

Re: Progress on my woman's '65 Short/Fleet.
Have you ever rolled up to Colorado for the Goodguys show? I was thinking about that as I know I could get there in a day no problem.

That would be nice. I won't be able to make that this year. This band is booked... I hate it when one hobby interferes with the other! Maybe next year... |
Re: Progress on my woman's '65 Short/Fleet.
I just read it again this morning.....its in Loveland which is practically Nebraska. I figured it would be closer to the Denver area.

Re: Progress on my woman's '65 Short/Fleet.
I think it used to be in Colo. Springs, but they moved it up to Loveland a couple years ago. I don't get why they did...??

Re: Progress on my woman's '65 Short/Fleet.
Joe,
Sweet,,,, progress is always good. on the inner fenders was the rust area in the forward area? if so I would like to see or hear how you and Fred fixed them. mine are toast and need a miracle....glad to hear progress pictures are coming,,,, Mac, This is David......................Not Joe.............. |
Re: Progress on my woman's '65 Short/Fleet.
Yes, the rust is was on the front tips of the inner fenders. Fred works magic with metal. He used a donor set to "make" his own patches. He cuts out the rusty area and pieces it back together with pieces cut out of another. Comes out pretty nice...

Then, after I backed the trailer into my 'assigned' work area at the shop, I bolted on the inner fenders freshly patched by Fred... I have no detailed shots of the patched area at this time, but I'll post some later...:chevy:

Then after a quick 'scuff and shoot' of the inner panel of the radiator support, we bolted that in...and did a little touching up...:chevy:
