Re: 1980 short box
Truck looks very good, but I wouldn't have mounted the seat belts like that. Mounting them directly to the floor can actually compress your spine in the event of a crash. This is the proper way to mount harnesses, and they should only be used for 2 years max. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...ds/harness.jpg I just dont want to see you get hurt in a crash (god forbid it ever happens in that nice of a truck!) I hope I'm not coming off as sounding like a dick, just trying to keep your safety first.
|
Re: 1980 short box
thanks for the heads up. all look into it more, i never knew it could cause harm. lol so the belts basically cant go down at that steep of an angle? what would be a good way of fixing this?
|
Re: 1980 short box
Alot of guys run a what they call a harness bar. Just round tube that welded/bolted to the body of the truck. Almost the same way a roll cage would be put in. It looks like you have a little bit of space behind your seat to do it.http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...l/harness1.jpg
That's basically all you need to make one, and they arn't that difficult to do. http://www.schrothracing.com/sdocs/2...structions.pdf Alittle long of a read, but really good info in that artical. As for the angle you want no more then a 20 degree angle. |
Re: 1980 short box
thanks, lots of great info in there!
