I just read your thread today, and compliments to you, very nicely done!

But I had to laugh when it went from a "parts running truck" to the last pics of it looking like it is in a car show.
Classic.
I almost get more of a kick out of reading this board than I do working on my truck .... yeah, almost but not quite :lol:

Thanks, i had to go buy another shop truck LOL. Not going to get carried away with this one. Even though It's a 69 short/wide with the big back window, and the chrome package. Getting some of the rust fixed and thats about it (a real shop truck). Here's a local thread;

I'm from Nambe also, just list Santa Fe cause it's the closest city. Post a picture of your truck.

Wow! You the man! I love the color. I was taking to my 7 year old daughter, while I was working on my 69....how I saw a 1960 in the local boneyard at maybe we can work on together for her. Now I'm inspired!

What type of rear did you use?

Thanks. I rebuilt the original rear end. I replaced the gears with I think 3.63 , or somewhere around there. I could only find that one ratio for the stock differential. Still a little low geared with the Saginaw 4-speed, but at least now I can drive 75 on the interstate without it sounding like the truck was about to blow up.

I believe that higher ratio for that type of diff is 3.38's.. and 3.90's are the more common 'low' gear.

Sorry hadn't checked this thread out in a while. The emblem was already of the hood. My truck had a newer hood, that I replaced.

aric70chevy, thanks I just to get the 69 looking like this.

Haven't done anything to it other than cruise and enjoy it. I will need to replace the Saginaw 4-speed soon. it's starting to vibrate badly (things are starting to get loose on long drives). I started a new project to keep me busy, it's a 69 short/wide. The thread is in my sig. I just picked up a custom bagged frame for it this weekend. Have it all apart.
