Re: My 68 swb build.
Looking good! You've done a great job with cleaning up the original parts!!!

Re: My 68 swb build.
Sorry dude! I have been lookin in but have not commented lately. Looks like powdercoating is going on. Did you get the system ya wanted?
|
Re: My 68 swb build.
No powdercoating yet. Just getting the parts hot so the paint is baked on. Brittany would kill me if I powdercoated in the house. Lol. Lit a fire under the body guy who's doing my cab and looks like I'll have the cab back in about a month and a half. I traded all the parts I wasn't gonna use ie... Fleetside short bed two tailgates my old cab new floorpan rear bumper 2 windshield cowls tail light covers for the blasting, epoxy, shaving, and getting all parts for my stepside bed, fenders, and hood. Probably a loss on my part but I couldn't get anyone to come get the stuff.

picked this up....for 35 bucks...and they all work... i took it home, took it completely apart, tested all the gauges, blasted the casing, painted the painted the inside white, back side black, and put it back together. This is an all original cluster minus the circuit board and the front bezel. did you know you cant buy the air pressure gauge aftermarket? i found one in north carolina and the guy said it didnt work...turns out it didnt. guess when he tried to put pressure to it, he broke the solder joint from the lever to the gauge..nothing a little solder cant fix..she works beautifully!!! ill post the final pick of the gauge after this post...

Re: My 68 swb build.
Chris, are you going to put the clear/black numbered lens in that sweet lookin gauge settup????
|
Re: My 68 swb build.
i would...but the only problem with that is that they dont make one with air pressure...or i would...
|
Re: My 68 swb build.
There's a guy on ebay who restores them and puts the black lettering on the inside tin (but won't provide his source...I asked :D). I've heard from guys who have the black letters on the lens itself that it doesn't show up well. I'm thinking of trying to find some stencils or black stickers and apply them on some white faced setups I'm making...
