Re: The Toybox

What a difference a good distributor will make! I got this distributor from Clay (6772owner) and just got it in this afternoon...wow! I am not sure if its the weight set, the fact that it is all tight, or that my old one was that shot but it helped a ton!
OLD: under load only pulled to about 3g when pushed hard. And that took forever, babying it.
NEW: Can pull 4500 under load, does it quick, and has "snap" to the skinny pedal. Pretty cool! Now to figure out fuel...

Re: The Toybox

I am really grateful for the help that everyone gives here! Thank you all! I don't have any way to take and/or post a video. Maybe this weekend. I don't usually do burnouts per-say but I will see about getting you guys something. As for the fuel, I still have a crappy pump that shuts down on me at random.

I wish I'd have time this weekend. The show and cruise are this in Loveland. And my wife's aunt, uncle & cousin are dropping in on us for 2 days. Plus I gotta work on moving. I will probably end up just not cruising it.

Now you know a 6.0 swap would fix all that distributor and fuel pump issues! ;)

Did I say before that this place is awesome? Josh, there is just one big flaw to all of this...I'm so broke I can't even pay attention. I can't afford the new fuel pump, how will I pay for that primadonna?

What kind of fuel pump you needing? I will get you a new one at my wholesale cost and ship it to ya! Let me know buddy.

Driveway Dreams 07-08-2010 08:37 AM

Re: The Toybox

I appreciate the offer. I can use wholesale pricing through work, I just can't afford it even still. I want to just get a blazer tank and set up the OE in tank pump. But that's a matter of finding one again. Or, I can replace the inline one I have with a good inline, that should work fine as well.

STOCKISH 07-08-2010 08:58 AM

Re: The Toybox

Yeah the Blazer tank would be cool for sure.

Re: The Toybox

I have an update! Adam SBtork hooked me up! I now have a Weiand dual plane intake, a Carter 600 w/ e-choke, and got a nice HEI dizzy, with GM performance wires. Now, I just need to find the time to swap that 355 in and sell my 350. I can't wait.

And, a local buddy of mine who does upholstery work,is starting his own business. He is gonna do my truck for the portfolio! That will happen soon enough too, just need a few bucks for materials.

Slow progress is still progress right? Thanks again Adam. Pics to come next week when the computer is set up again. Its still down from the move.

Ok, so it isn't a Blazer tank update. But it is 2 other updates none the less!

The first: I got some free seat belts from Adam, Cochino12. I thought I would dye them Black as they were Dark Blue. FAIL! Results to follow...Showing the wash, the dye, the rinse, and the old vs new.

I got a wild hair and a bomb can this afternoon. So, the family & I went out to stripe the truck. Did some "hockey stripes" and even incorporated (into the paint) the old V8 emblems like I used in the "in memory of" stickers for my Grandpa. The stripes turned out pretty good for an hours work in the driveway. What do you guys think?

Threw one in of the kids working on my boy's bike. :D
