Renee is an awesome guy that knows how to throw a party. I went last year and brought the wife. Was a ton of fun. I see him at swap meets and what not all the time. Remind me when it gets a bit closer if you still want to come. Maybe my truck will be ready too... :bsf: |

I learned last night that primer that is supposed to dry in 15 minutes takes about 9 hours in 22º weather. I need a heated paint booth!!!

Well I got an unintended snow day (since there's snow on the ground all the traffic all around Portland is at a standstill, and I have to drive thru Portland to get to work) so I thought I'd make use of it and get my steering shaft fixed. Look at the hokey contraption I came up with to push the shaft out... but it worked! 19" from slot to the face of the rag joint. Ready to rock. Well, after sanding the rust off and re-painting.

Made some progress today. This week I've been taking advantage of the warmer weather and doing some painting when it's not been raining. Got the headlight buckets and the steering shaft painted, and got the splash apron all done. So today I started assembling stuff. My truck now steers, brakes, and has almost all it's sheet metal. I painted the cowl with the John Deere flat black that Rob suggested, and it looks killer! Nice and smooth! It's drying right now, I'll take pics tomorrow. Tomorrow if weather cooperates I will paint the grille!
On to the pics. |

My daughter loves this guy, she's stomping along with him: :sumo: |
Re: 69 LWB Power Tour Rig
Very good progress! I can relate to fighting the cold weather and primer taking forever to set up.

Got the grille done today. I am totally stoked about this paint that Rob suggested. The finish is KILLER. I did 5 light coats on the cowl, grille, and mirror arms, and they all look awesome. Going to wait 2 days, then polish the stainless hoops, and install them and the grille bowtie. Should have it all together by the weekend. Then it's on to the hood and fenders.
After that the real fun begins... the bed! Going to bring the floor down and have it blasted after I cut the rail for the gas tank to fit. Getting there. :metal: Rob - I'll probably easily be done for Renee's meet. Better hurry up with your truck!!! On to the pics. Wish the finish really came thru clearly in the pics, it looks killer in person!!! |

Oh it looks good on the pictures anyway! Knew you would love it. Thinking I might use it until I can afford a good paint job. I'm hurrying!!! I've got the rear notch almost done!!! Going to order the. 4-link in a week or so. Since you'll be done early come help on mine. It's on like 16 hours of driving. |

Gonna grab the white they have there too for the top. If it looks half as good as the black it's gonna kick serious ass. \m/. |

And from what I've read its indestructible. They made it for tractors so I'm sure it will last.

Re: 69 LWB Power Tour Rig
Well got a few things done this week so far. Grille is together and ready to install. Now I have to finish plumbing the cooler, install the cooler, then i can install the grille. Also got my power steering pump from Summit, and had to bite the bullet and got the housing and reservior kit from CPP (GASP!). I paid for it yesterday and surprise I still haven't got a shipping email. I figure monday or tuesday. Good thing I'm not in a hurry for it, huh?
Also grabbed inner fenders (Goodmark ones too!) from Rick at Chevy Metal, along with the correct PS pulley he had at his shop he gave me. Only body part I am missing now is the rear sport bumper. I probably won't have time to work on the truck this weekend, the next 2 weeks are filled with tons of studio work (lots of new music on it's way) but I'll be back on it the weekend after next hopefully. Onward! :metal: |

Made some progress today. I had to get the trans cooler lines up into the grille area, so I drilled 2 holes in the splash apron, grabbed grommets for the lines, and installed the splash apron and grille. Got everything half way lined up and hood closes and looks ok for now. Next step is the hood, then the fenders. Progress!
Got my power steering pump and reservoir now, I'll assemble that and install it once the brackets and pulleys are all cleaned up and painted. Pics! |

Got some stuff sandblasted friday, threw some primer down on them today. More to come, I have another batch of parts for monday I should be getting. Plus I snagged a pair of stock exhaust manifolds today, going to have those blasted and then paint them with POR15 Exhaust Gray. Getting lots done!! :sumo:

Did some assembly on the engine, with the newly painted brackets, new valve covers, etc. The fan shroud is a little rough, gotta clean it up and paint it. I had to order the exhaust gray from Summit, they don't have it locally. should be here wednesday, might be able to install them by the weekend.
Also realized when I tried to put my heater box in yesterday I have the wrong one... I need one from an AC cab, not a non-AC. Oh well. Anyone want a heater setup that I just cleaned up really good? |
