Here is the floor after I cleaned up and painted it. Remember this is gonna be a driver not a show car!

I picked up these buckets on CL for $50 and the console from the board. I'll put carpet in it in a few months but for now I need to finish the frontend wiring and install the inner fenders so I can drive it.

Nope, nothing but 1/4" of dirt under the rubber mat. :(

I'm trying but it's slow. I shouldn't have done this much but I'm almost done. The pipe dream to be done by end of the month is going out another couple weeks maybe a month. I still need to cut and buff the rest of the truck:(
It's ok the cut and buff part is my favorite. I can drink a lot of beer while I do it. :)

Thanks Scott,
Snow came in last night, left me and the trucks lightly covered in snow.
I'm still fine with the progress but wish I had got more done than I did...
It really is inconvenient having a job! Lol
I'll get some more done this week but it won't be much as my company president is in town for a visit, so I'll be hosting him this week a few days.

The floor ,seats and console looks great ,what did the seats come out of ,they match the truck perfectly.

Thanks Flashed!
These buckets were standard in many 90s suburbans. I thought they were a better fit for a truck that's destined to see a lot of hauling and dirty work and much cheaper than original buckets or my set of buddy's! I'll treat it as good as possible but I use my 2007 GMC WAAAAY to much.

The floor was mostly just dirty and there as some surface rust spots that needed addressed. I wire wheeled the spots and sprayed them with rust converter then truck bed liner. The floor will need a few spots fixed when the the rockers get done later but for now I just got it all mounted.
I put. The console a little rather ford than it would typically be but sitting in the seats it more comfortable to grab your drink out of in this position.

This truck has less power but is still capable enough for me. As far as trailering... My truck trailer has surge brakes so it will most likely stop better than the 07 does. The 70 3/4 Ton seems to have more weight to it, plus I added the disc brakes to the 70 as well. These 2 things should assist with the pushing feeling in the 07.

Nice work on the floor and I have always liked those seats. They are getting rare around here anymore. You seem to be missing the normal rust in this cab.....what's that like?
Keep up the good work.

Here's the pic of the rear of the cab! I guess I Had forgotten to post it. Nothing overly nice but I thought tying the floor/cab in this area may keep a clean cut line in the truck.

Mike, thanks for the compliment. I found these and passed over them for a month before calling the guy. I think they will work well for their purpose. I'll keep my eyes out for them now! Lol

Its got a little rust in the cab corner and rockers but that's for another... much warmer month, to get attention. As far as the rust not showing I think it may be a little bit of shell game and point of view for the picture that makes it seem a little better than it is. Its not horrible but definitely not perfect. Ill have some updates this weekend.

It looks like you are going to get done just in time to enjoy it this spring.
I like short Driver projects, it takes discipline to stop at "good enough" and not do a full frame off, nut and bolt restoration.
I can't wait to see her all finished and driving again.

Well, I got another sidetrack today. A friend called that demos buildings and said I could come pick up some cabinets cheap (he's got real money) so after I laughed he gave me a price per unit and I decided to go look. I pulled in with a friend and boy was I surprised to see these cabinets and shelves available. I came back with my trailer (so did my friend) and loaded them up. I will get some better pictures of them this weekend.
If anyone didn't know I'm trying to get my materials for a large building build this spring through summer. I couldn't pass this stuff up once I saw it. My 3rd car garage will be crammed for a few months for sure.
Enjoy the pic's I have for now! Please don't beat me up for loading the trailer up this much, I only had time for one trip!
There is 9 VIDMAR cabinets on there and a paint locker down the middle!

Ta-da! Cleaned one side of the garage today. Lots of sorting to do but it's a start towards getting the garage ready for the shop.

Mike,
was that a paint or chemical storage unit those shelves were in? looks like a fume extraction system with all the ducting.......:smoke:
I'm putting together a box of goodies for you, should be going out this week.

Ben,
Its not a full paint locker but its better than the open shelves I was using.
Im keeping my eye open for a full vented version for the barn.

Hey Mike,
Well I've passed on 8 or so prior to now and then these came up. I got 9 total and let a fellow board member get 2 of them. I already had 1 so I cannot imagine having a need for more than these. (2 are not shown) I didn't however take the other 8 that were available. (plus I couldn't afford too many more from the truck account).
I'm getting my timbers from the same guy for my barn build in the next few weeks. they are huge...10"X10"X25' and 13"X13"25'. It will get its own thread when the time comes to build something.
Thanks for hanging out with me. If your ever this way let me know and we can get a bite and have a drink.
