Thanks for posting, if I make the '16 show in Oregon. I'll do the same.

Great work, Tim.

Between your pictures and some YouTube videos they've been posting, it's almost like I was there.

...almost, lol.

I'm sure it was a time that y'all will sure remember.

Bill

The only other national show I went to was 1987. There were about 300 trucks there. That was a while ago, but these shows are huge now. I'd sure like to catch next year's show and meet a member or two at the same time.

I was hoping to get a few more signs of appreciation (comments on trucks) after all the effort it took to post all 400 pictures. Quiet bunch I guess. Anyway, here's one last picture I took after I uploaded all the rest. I took it at home sweet home (forgot the button they gave me). T-shirt was for parking volunteers (says Truck Show staff in big letters on back), can't buy this one. That's the wheel chock everyone got you see in some pictures, show plaque, and photo card you gave the photographers on the way in when you got your pictures taken for this year's "Showtime" issue...and you could show that to buy your photos if you wanted

Really enjoyed the pictures of the trucks you posted. It is just like walking down the rows for a second time. I am trying to add some pictures to, but I have not got it figured out yet. All in good time.

I believe he drove all the way from San Francisco. The only trouble he had was front wheel bearings.

Tim,

Cool keepsakes. I did notice that every truck got a Wheel Chock. Some actually used them, lol.

I knew if I lowered myself to whining I'd get some sympathy

Jeff, I'm sorry I missed you there. Or did we meet and I forgot. Seriously, such a big show I'm not sure it didn't happen...but I do think I would remember. I don't even remember seeing some you showed. I never saw that flip-top fender GMC. It's great that most you showed are ones I didn't. That Speak Family Transtar is their (IH) tractor hauler. They are big in the Maryland International Club (truck & tractor). My friend Chuck went over and did some pinstripe or lettered something just before dark Friday night. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah Bill, no run away trucks that I'm aware of...lol. I'm right proud of my t-shirt. I didn't even buy a show shirt. The Chapter in Oregon that is hosting next year had t-shirts for sale. I wanted one of those but never got back to but one. Really nice looking on the back with two trucks and a road coming out of a covered bridge on navy blue

Re: ATHS National Show '15

I would really like to go to next year's show in Salem*. I doubt it will come around to that. Maybe one day, though, I will be able to catch a west coast show. I have a thing for logging trucks, so the NW would be awesome. Of coarse, it was in CA where I've seen the nicest trucks on the planet. I'm talking back in the '70s when custom trucks were far and few between across the nation. Generally it was western trucks that took my love of trucks to a whole new level
* I have an sweet little filly up in Portland I would like to visit, too. Not that the trip wouldn't be about trucks you understand?

That '36 GMC pickup in post 1st picture post #135 was super saweet! The owner and I shared our first cup of coffee Saturday morning (we each had our own cup ) after waiting about 5 minutes for the kitchen to open. He's an older feller from upstate NY/now a snow bird in FL. He ran his body shop all his life before retiring. He did that truck many years ago and it is all original parts. Some museum should buy that!

In that same post is the 3rd picture is a Brockway hearse...totally custom coach built...from Venezuala! Talk about unique (while being creepy).

If you don't make the salem show, I'm planning on going. So hopefully I'll have some pics to post up

It's nice to have all areas of the country covered.

Now if they ever make it to SW Virginia...

Re: ATHS National Show '15

It's always somewhere different and bounces back and forth/up nd down to cover the four corners and middle. It's getting harder to find locations to house events of this size, or I should sat "limited". It's not just room for the trucks, but rooms for attendees (who don't rough it like some of us...or bring RVs). I slept in the back of the Reo. Chuck brought his RV (and girlfriend). I heard talk that it may come back to York in '20. That will be a first. It's a lot to plan and run a smooth operating show when you learn from experience, then never return. The one feller who did most of the lay-out was going up there several times in the year before. He used satellite imagery and really brainstormed to come up with a fantastic show. Once you pull your finger out of the dyke all you can do is hope you considered all things and made the right moves. Cuz once they start coming they don't stop till it's time to leave

Everybody that views this thread appreciates your efforts. I think folks get busy enjoying the pictures and forget to post. Thanks for efforts. I have spent a lot of time on this thread and regretfully hadn't said thank you. I would love to attend a show like this in person one day, but thanks do you I was able to at least to some degree.

Anybody know who owns the green GMC?

I need to ask the owner a few questions about the wheel/tire combination.

Thank you.
