I went over to the paint shop today and they may have it done by Friday. Should I hold my breath? |
Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Good thing I didnt hold my breath. The tailgate is looking good though. Just cant mount it until I buy new trunions for it (again).

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Very Nice. That tailgate looks awesome. Are you going to run the stock taillights?
I am trying to decide on mine between stock, 55-59 style or the 1950 Pontiac lights into the fenders. Bret |
Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Thank you. I plan on using the stock type tail lights stainless housings, chrome brackets with LED's. Not much difference in the tail lights you mentioned, the Pontiac lights would look good also.

Thanks Captainfab. I have been busy kind of, installed your brake booster bracket and the brake pedal bracket. Surprising how good the next gen rear bumper fits.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Truck looks amazing. Very inspiring to see the rear bed shot as I am working on all those pieces right now. I wasn't going too but after seeing the ends of your bedsides with the rails filled in I might have to do that now.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Looking better all the time. Great progress.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
that looks Really Nice, Love the two toned pint. I also like the filled in bed rails.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
Thanks guys for the positive comments. It's been a long time waiting for it to come back. Now I need to clean the chassis as it is a mess. It went over to the paint shop wrapped in plastic but that didnt deter them removing it and causing max trouble for me.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project
I used a 67/68 C10 step side rear bumper, stock with stock brackets. I did however use 7/16" bolts vice 1/2" bolts as I had to allow for a tad more angle on the brackets without grinding out any holes on the chassis or brackets. The rear stock taillight brackets holes were dremel'd to allow for raising the taillights a smidge to clear the top of the bumper.
I also ran a ground line from the attaching taillight bolts on the bed (both sides) to ensure a proper ground there. I prefer that to the stock grounds. |
