This is to Big Kev-O what vented fuel cap did you go with? I'm not sure you mentioned it or I might have read over it.

Sorry I have no clue. All I know is my tank does not have a vent line so I think it is a early year 67-68 tank. I assume the cap is vented. The cap that is on the truck has a lock so I think it may be aftermarket. I dont know much about the different fuel tanks or caps. I need a replacement but I am not quite sure what to order.

they are also coming out with a multiport setup, the only info I could get out of them on it was it wouldn't work with my mercruiser efi tunel ram so i'm going to assume you would still have to use their throttle body

No, I usually have a very slight vacuum. Mine is a correct aftermarket vented cap for 1970 and earlier trucks. I had to modify the seal quite a bit to get it not to leak gas on corners, but now it works well.

Question, how did you modify your cap so as not to spill on corners. I cannot get my jot to leak.

Step one, get a cap with a vent that works correctly. I bought 3, 2 from Brothers and 1 from LMC. 1 of the Brothers caps worked. The blue part in the center is the vent. If you try to blow through it it shouldn't let air through. Not recommended on a used cap...LOL. http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/...psg932zz9b.jpg

Step 2, buy an O-ring kit. I got mine from Harbor Freight. It has a variety of sizes.

Step 3, add o-rings. I put one around the center part of the cap against the gasket, and I stacked several behind the gasket. This adds pressure to the gasket and helps it seal against the tank neck. My o-rings are starting to fail, they are about 2 years old now.

The cap is hard to turn like this, but I have had zero leaks even with a full tank in a hard right turn.

Just a note - some orings are not gas friendly especially e10.

I think these are Buna. So far they are surviving ok. And they are cheap, so when they get too bad I will just replace them.
