Finally got some cement in my building and just purchased a new welder so I can get my truck project back on track. The building isn't set up at all yet but it will be over time . We seem to have a lot of home time right now so I am hoping to go hard on the truck this summer.

Was able to get some time in the shop this last weekend and I got my shocks installed up front then started prepping for my 4 link install. Found some scabs on the frame under the old leaf spring mounts, so I had to make a couple of patches. Of course I ran out of shielding gas so I had to switch over to flux core. I figure just for little patches and tacking in my 4 link the FC .030 will be fine. The new VULCAN welder works surprisingly very well. As far as the 4 link goes I am measuring everything 1000 times because I am so new to building a chassis it sort of freaks me out ha . Also any of you that have went this route or something similar did you use the stock 116in wheelbase?

Well ended up making some more boxing plates and was able to fully weld in both sides before the wife shut it down to help rearrange the bed room lol. Now with a 4th check of axle center and rearend center. I can start measuring and tacking in my 4 link. My ebay coil overs for the rear came today.

Re: "52 3600/3100"
sometimes something like these calculators can be handy, if nothing else it makes you think about how the suspension reacts and plants the tires if done right.

Isn't crazy that if you sit and wait for 3 hrs it seems like forever but if you go out to the shop and start working on your truck 3hrs flies by and its midnight all of the sudden. Happens every time. Anyways I was able to do a 15 degree shock mock up and tack in an upper shock mount last night. Had to do some more boxing which never hurts anything but cutting out boxing plates with a cutoff wheel is getting old. I need some hardware for my shock mounts then I can get everything finish welded and painted.

Re: "52 3600/3100"
Very cool. Currently working on a triangulated 4 link myself but I wasn't sure I could weld to the pumpkin on my Ford 8.8. Decided to build a truss over the pumpkin and weld to that kind of like the offroad guys do with their Jeeps

ITS OFFICIALLY A ROLLING CHASSIS!! I know most of you guys have done it 1000 times but figuring out the chassis part of this build by myself was a big accomplishment for me . In the past I just waited until my pops had time to help but I didn't want to bug him this time. Now I still need to finish weld everything and make it pretty but my goal for this week was to have a rolling chassis. Now to get engine and trans mounts in and start fitting body panels before I put the cab on the cab cart and finish the chassis.
