Here a couple from my stable. The 52 Old Blue is my parts chaser and run around truck. The Burb is a current WIP. I have others also as WIP but on the back burner for now. I went ahead and added my 49 WIP as it is currently.

Tim, Welcome to the A D section from dry heat So. Az.! Very nice build you have, can you tell me more about the hood peak and a finished (to date) pic of the hood. It looks like you filled in the cowl vent right? How did you keep from heat warping the hood panels? Thanks |

Those are the stock half ton GMC hubs caps, mounted to later model GM 4 x 4 Rally styled wheels. I made some adapters so I could snap them in place. I'll make a link here and you can take a closer look. I need to make some final photos. I thought I had them but can not locate them. I will try to get them done this week sometime and add a follow up note. Oh and thanks for the kind words!! Nice Panel! Wish I had one of them too!! http://community.webshots.com/user/b...host=community |
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
I thought I had posted my '54 on here already, but didn't see it while browsing through these pics. Very cool truck builds on here. Make me want to finish mine and get a Task Force pick up!
Here's ashot of the rear after I mounted the bumper. http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/t...esnow09188.jpg Here's the front passenger side with a white wall just for fun. http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/t...esnow09189.jpg |
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Daniel U, I like how you have a roll pan and the bumper. It looks clean, and it's suppose to be like that. Nice work.

1955Eddie Wow, that is a good looking truck. More info and Pics please. That stance is awsome.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Thanks FLAMES97
its a 1955. camaro clip in the front s10 rear. disc brakes front and rear. air bag suspension. 1 piece glass. power windows and seats. sway bars in front and rear. shaved handles and front turn signals. smoothed dash, cowl, firewall bed sides, and tailgate. 350/350 engine tranny. 18x8 front wheels and 20x10 rear.the list goes on but its a true father and son project that was completed in a 2 car garage. Everything was done by us including paint/mods/exhaust/wiring/glass/suspension. The only thing that has seen a shop are the 2 front seats. http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m..._9229small.jpghttp://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...uck/dade-2.jpghttp://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSC_0041-1.jpghttp://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...uck/b7eb-1.jpghttp://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...uck/ec72-1.jpghttp://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...uck/20a0-2.jpghttp://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...uck/45ec-2.jpg |
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
That is the exact stance I want on mine when aired out. Do you have any pics of the rear suspension and frame area.
Again, My jaw drops everytime I see your truck. Nice work. |
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Hey 1955 Eddie,
This is mkabwe from cardomain. I'm glad you found us over here. Eddie also has a sweet 55 car. |
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
What's going on Kabwe?? That truck is looking good. I registered on this site a long time ago but just wasnt active on it during my truck build. I just bought a 1953 chevy truck so I was out hunting information and made it back here. Man your craftsmanship is still top notch. I was checking out you build thread and as we said before great minds think alike haha. I'm loving the mods. Be carefull on those light with the led turn signal in them. I haven't been happy with them overall. They are all plastic and the blink mode isn't very much brighter then the daytime running light mode. I have that disconnected so they. Basicallygo from off to on when blinking. The light spread is also uneven from left to right. I bought new $50 replacement bulbs and same result just brighter. I'm think maybe some poor craftsmanship in the plastic lens. Anyway we couldgo on for days. Take care and keep the cutter and welder going strong.

I'll see if i can dig up some old pics of the back half. I'll tell you though if i had to do it all over again I'd follow Kabwe's lead on the frame mods. I have a very similar C notch as he shows on his build thread. My truck already had a bad sub frame hack job when I bought it so i just cut it off and corrected the issues before welding it back on. The front wasnt low enough for me so I cut the bottom of the spring pockets out and extended them lower. When it is laid out it, the lower A frame touches the frame minus a very thin bump stop. I used slam specialities RE8 bags up front. I bought the shorter (I believe 54 inch end to end) s10 disc brake rearend including the leaf springs. I fabricated some brackets to mount the leafs to the frame. RE6 bags out back. Again a lot of man hours in that and the 4 link would have been much nicer and hours considered, cheaper. |
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
That truck is clean Eddie. What wheels are those?
|
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Thank you BJCALDWE. They are American racing torque thrust II's. They were custom made with the backspacing that I wanted and chrome centers instead of polished. 18x8 in front and 20x10 rear. I know the back tires are 315/35/20. I believe the fronts are 235/45/18.

Heres my 39 COE--this cab style was used from 36-50 on some 2ton up models--well in the army truck case this one was a 1 1/2 ---3 ton 4x4
if anyone knows of any of the longnose ones sitting in a junkyard-please let me know. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...9&d=1241051085 |
Re: How about some pics of 47-59
KABWE you already know we are on the same page. I love the mod and your nicer then me I wont even use the hand signals.
JJJMM56 :sumo: BLITZD good to bump into you like this. I dont have any pics of the bags. I can tell you that I flattened the bottom of the frame where the spring sits. I couldnt see cutting the side of the frame out to make room for the bags.(They do the late 60s and 70 models trucks like this) My though was if I ruin an A frame I can get another one of those for next to nothing. Maybe we can arrange something and meet in person so you can check it out. no secrets here, I'll share and help with what I can. http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...100_9214-1.jpghttp://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...100_9217-1.jpg Heres one for you KABWE.
