Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
Drill a small pilot hole on the door hinges and use them to realign the doors for assembly...
Where did you get the parts. I was thinking of buying new inner fenders... Also, whos doing the paint? |

My painter is a friend that does only custom work. Here are a few pictures of my fuel tank that I am modifying for the fuel injection system. I cut the end off to install a baffle. Also added a filler neck. The tank came out of my buddie's old boat. I couldn't believe the dimensions were perfect to fit in the rear of my frame rails. http://i806.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps860aaae8.jpg Welding the new filler neck. http://i806.photobucket.com/albums/y...pseade6df1.jpg http://i806.photobucket.com/albums/y...psd70fdc6e.jpg http://i806.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps36dd2590.jpg |

I agree with you on the original fenders. That's the only way to go man. I'm making an attempt to use all GM sheetmetal on my project. What a pain. |

Great News! After months of looking I found a complete rust free front clip off a 67. Came complete with core support and inner fenders. The guy also through in 4 doors with all of the glass. Now I can get back to work. I will keep you all updated with photos.

I picked up my new front clip from my buddy's house yesterday. I removed the aftermarket clip and installed the original sheet metal clip. The clip was originally on a 1967 C20 with dual batteries. I didn't know dual battery's were an option back then. I couldn't believe how well everything lined up. There is a lot of work to do on this front end but I believe it will be worth it. Today I am going to remove the front end and start stripping the paint in preparation for body work and primer.
