Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Nice addition to the house, it really fits with pitch matching the house. Would make a nice snowboard hill...enjoy your new space.Almost back to the build?

Have a bench I want to build and still have lots of 'arranging' to do but yeah...I'm considering bringing the blazer home if not today, very soon. Priced out the roll up doors last week too...:ack: Blazer update: Received the 4spd tilt column this week. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
The auto shifter you have (3-speed) only needs the shift plate replaced, give Summit a call and they can send it out, it was like $15, the shifter and everything else is the same, the pattern is on the plate, so don't sell it!!

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Any progress pics of the new shop?
Did you get the Blazer home yet? :smoke: Patiently waiting... |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
This is cool. I can watch a shop and a truck build without click'n between threads! ;)
Waiting to see how both turn out. Manspace is looking real nice!!! |

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Things are coming along nicely.
Looks like you'll have to hire an electrician next. ;) |

Okay, I'll end this hi-jacking interim with a few "finished for now" pics.
Siding, insulation & sheet-rock are being scheduled for next years money explosion event. (having two exterior walls STILL not insulated in the kitchen, I'm thinking I've done good to get this far. ;)) :but:...I think I need a bigger garage. :exit:  |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
All right...looks like you're pretty much moved in. :metal:
Let the building (Blazer) begin! |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
That miniature rollup door is SO cute!
Could that dark sillouette in the background possibly be the wife slowly shaking her head in disbelief that you're photographing a garage to post on the Interweb?? LOL. |

How'd ya know? May not so much disbelief cause she's used to but maybe she was thinking more along the lines of...MEN! Yeah 'cute' for sure but being able to roll the engine hoist & the engine that's currently on a stand through it, is worth any & all ribbing I'll ever get about it. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
And here I thought the mini roll up door was your access to the Bat Cave. Guess I was wrong.
|
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

Awesome! and yes I am still totally jellous! :metal: Have agreat weekend! Burt |

I like the mini rollup idea. I'll have to remember that for the future of my shop (or next one).
It's looking good, now get back to the Blazer !!! :D |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
so, do you wish you made it bigger yet? that's what most guys do I bet...
|
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
I think I forgot what you had planned for the blazer already.

Recap front to back: Electric fans / serp belt assembly / 355 crate motor / 87 Vette TPI 700r / 241 t-case / D60-14BFF / 4:56 gears / 4whl disc brakes / 37" MTR's / H2 alloy wheels, that's the drive train. Body will be orange w/a white top. Possibley a cowl hood. Full cage, PRP seats, spray in sound deadening. Ring any bells? ;) |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Ahhh, now I remember. Is that what you'll be driving to the big meet you mentioned in another thread??

THE STARTING POINT: |

Went around and took pics of everything but these pics are a fair representation the whole truck.
The pass rocker & the pass rear lower quarter are the only real 'bad' spots. Floor near the tranny cover seems minimal. May or may not repair the hood hinge area, have others I can use. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Wow that's clean.......................................I'll trade ya!
|
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
All builds should start out like that, even the bed looks prestine around the wheelhouses
Gotta be your easiest body build yet! Throw a coat of orange on it and drive it to Tenn. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Wow that thing is ready for paint! Looks good VT. Can't wait to see ya dig into it.

My son helped me remove the front clip last night, then it was dinner time and we never made it back out.
He's 11 and you shoulda seen his eyes light up when I mentioned "maybe we should build a go cart" for him! Was fun to hang with him in the new man space. Finished the plasma cart, so that's ready to go when I find the need for it. |
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Knowing your skills, I bet it would be a sweet go cart!
|
Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
you mean this thread is about a truck?
I like the plasma cart but I have a question, is houeskeeping at the local Holiday Inn mad that they are missing a cart??? Nice clean truck...you should make a Go Kart build thread! |
