Re: Lets Play Whatz It? !!
OK now. Think I got this one.
That has got to be an iron-age backwards sundial for when they figured cars would be timed with solar energy! This device turns down the timing on those solar engines running on Solar-high speed and pinging because of it. NO? Drat. More clues? |
Re: Lets Play Whatz It? !!
Is this a tool or something else? looks like the decorative embossing on the base, not many tools have that kind of decor.
Maybe an old siren out of an old police car? |

a tool used to index the hair spring when assembling a pocket watch
|
Re: Lets Play Whatz It? !!
Finally ..........well done, gotta know how did you find it ?....I know this was a difficult one.
I thought I was just going to have to start spelling out the whole thing one letter at a time. This is a very old tool that is very practical. When you have to remove the hairspring and the roller tables from a balance wheel, you can use this tool to index where all the parts went. The arrow indicates the direction of the hairspring. The platform rotates. You place the bottom of the balance wheel so that the roller jewel fits into the slot in the cent of the table. You then rotate the table so the the post is where the hairspring stud is located. Using this tool makes it possible to not mark the rims of the balance for these positions. A very interesting and useful tool. Ok....gmtec....it's yours.... :ennyd::ennyd::ennyd::ennyd::ennyd::ennyd: |
