finally fixed my camera problem...broke my camera then lost my wife's camera's usb cable. Anyways, here's a pic of my 4 link kit from TCI. Also received my 700R4 tranny -- pics to follow.

Hey guys...haven't had much time to work on the ride since beginning of last summer. I decided to try some Dupli-Color vinyl paint on the stock seats...I think it turned out quite good.
Some parts have come in -- pro built 700R4 trans (painted same colour as the engine) and Classic Instrument guages. Big selling point for me is that they sell them with the speedo in kms/hr! |

hey km per hour thats nice wat brand gauges are they .
was talking to a couple of people making them about getting a set of matching gauges in kmh i like to get a monster tach and same size speedo . do they also make oil pressure and watertemp in european metric ? |

metric measure of distance per hour common in europe and most of the rest of the world actually
found the website eventually and allso found out that auto meter has metric gauges too (on special order) |

Yeah, try this one... L/100 kms
Had time last week to play with the steering shaft. Took over 8 weeks for my Borgeson dampener to arrive. Also, prepping for 4-link install. |

Any progress on the 4-link? I have a '57 that I am looking to do the same setup on. I have the camaro clip in it already, just haven't decided what type of a bag setup to use (either bite the bullet and buy a Air Ride kit for ~$650 or piece together something) Have you been getting your major parts locally in Edmonton or have you been doing mail order? (I am just curious as my company has an office in Edmonton, and if prices are better out your way I can get them shipped from their to BC) |

Hey chevy3100! Not much progress made, I'm having trouble with the rivets.
I bought a complete kit from TCI through Wadsons here in Edmonton...paid around $1100 included bags, shocks mounts, hardware. Looks like a quality kit. I think you could piece it together yourself if you are more crafty than me. What is the name of your company? |

Having trouble with the rivets that need to come out to install the front link mount...any advice? These suckers don't come out that easy.

Also try drilling into the head before cutting it off. Should knock right out.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll try those tips.
Also, What angle does the axle need to be at when I weld the rear mount to it? Do I need to level my frame and have it at ride height when welding? |

I usually set the pinion angle upwards equal to the angle the tranny in pointing downward. That usually is between 2-4 degrees. With the 4 link you have adjustability if you are a little off. If you don't have the tranny setup i would do that first. This is the method I use for a regular rear leaf spring setup. I have never installed a 4 link but I think the principal is the same.

best way is from the motor back. make sue everything is level side to side,front to back. should improve the ride with the updates 10 fold. if you match the trans output angle with the pinion angle you should be set.

I was wondering if you had any pics with front sheet metal back on? Was wanting to see how keeping stock axle centerline looked with the camaro clip and bagged. Did wheels look centered in opening with truck on the ground? I also have the video to do the clip. Others tell me to move axle centerline forward about an inch.

Just found this and thought I would say, i would run a Watts Link instead of a panhard bar. keep the axle centered thru complete travel instead of moving it side to side with travel. Only bad part is you couldn't run your bag behind axle setup.

I'm back in the shop, started to assembly the engine. I'm probably going to need some help as I've never done this before.
Thanks Throwback, I am a novice at this so I think I'm going to stick with the panhard supplied. This truck is just for cruising anyways. |

give us a step by step as i never put an engine together as whell but would love to try it in the future .
there is a book i have that has a dvd with it , verry handy shows a lot of little things yu wouldn't think about . make verry sure the machinist done his job correctly and everything spins like it should during assemby |
