Ok, couple questoins about the trans cooler...First, how well do they work compared to the in radatior ones like stock? Second what size is it? And where do you get your braided lines and fittings? I am looking to do this mod on my truck, and i see you have done it to a couple ones u have built. Thanks and keep up the good work.

it is a 18" dual row cooler, can be got from summit, jegs, ebay, etc.....
i use -6 AN fitngings and -6 braided lines, these too came from summit/jegs......compaired to the "traditional" rad. mounted ones
this cooler is designed to disapate heat by haveing BOTH internal and external heat dissipating fins also this heat sink design produces high heat transfer with minimal airflow... unlike the traditional radiator mounted ones..... haveing said that it is designed for a non-lockup converter trans cooling needs, so with a lock-up converter, it should work out really well..

got the wire harness fitted in the old vent hole......it fits nice and will look great tucked under the dash...

I tried to look back and see if you said anything, but there is sooo much stuff to look through! Did you leave the outer part of the air vents open to allow for drainage? Or do you have some way of cleaning em out? Just wondering since you blocked them off from the inside. I do like how you mounted your fuse block, looks sharp!

WIth the shape that mine are in I might do the same, but I would have to be running A/C since I will have no other ventilation...

getting some progress....
got a head start on the wiring of the truck....im gonna run the wires for the air ride sensors through a bulkhead ,in the cab, to the air ride computer....also got the electric brake system (no vacuum booster), and started to moc it up.....but before i can install in, i neeed to make the driver side firewall smooth and symetrical with the pass. side......also still chipping away at the dash...

Lookin good! Another question about the air vent/cowl area. Since you have the air vents blocked off, couldn't you have just left the whole bottom of the cowl area off? Just asking b/c it seems like trash could still get caught it there. If it was completely open it would be more likely to just fall out. I think your way will work fine, b/c I'm assuming your ride won't be parked under a tree much. ;) I'm just brainstorming for myself...

Oh and what is that electric brake setup u have?

yea, i suspose you could leave them open... and you're right, it probley will never be left outside for any extended period of time....
the connector i ordered though my work, dont remember the name of the place off the top of my head.....but it is a bulkhead connector used on many aircrafts.......the connectors were bought seperate...

a little more progress this weekend....
got the mirror image of the pass side transfered to some metal. then tacked it into place.....my wife helped me a bit on the welding.....smoothed the welds and now i just need to make the other peice(held on by the magnets)....then ill build a stiffener for the firewall to support the weight of the brake set-up....

Question about the tranny. Will they fit any LS series engines?
I've got an LS1 and I'd really like the potential fuel economy of the 6sp and I don't want to do a standard. Any idea what kind of compatibility issues I might have? I currently have a 4L60E.

yes they will bolt right up to any gen3/4 engine....as for the wiring and the brains, thats a diffrent story...;)

the electric brake system works like this....it has a pump that boosts the pressure to 1800-2000PSI and then pumps it back into the master cylinder...so when you push the brakes you get the benifit of all that pressure, just like a conventional power brake system with the booster.......

ok got the firewall pretty much wrapped up....im now working on the firewall stiffener to support the weight of the under dash brake set-up.....here are some pics of the firewall and the beginning of the stiffener
