And a few more...A few of these are from Saigon in 65. So I guess the military took at least a few to Vietnam.

And a few more. The last two are not vintage pics, but a good example of a 62 GMC armored truck.

If it's in another thread, it may have been missed by others. I posted a pic of stepside that had been posted a couple other times, but the last time I got all kinds of members asking about the truck. Also, it's too much work to try and make sure you don't post the same pic that someone else posted. Threads get long. . So please, don't waste your time. Just post the pics you find. |

But instead of an Olds block, is that maybe a handling fixture for the machine...? |

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
There are a few pics of this truck hauling spuds......it looks to me like it says "Clarkfork IDA" on the door. That's about 30-35 miles North of where I'm at.

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Hey 1963c-10, in post # 217 and 218, 217 has a similar Case that a farmer back home I know has and the pick-up with that corn planter? That tractor is an Allis-Chalmers W series tractor with a John Deere pull behind 2-row planter. Used to have a planter like that back home and an old 1948 Allis-Chalmers WC tractor, lol.

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
No problems at all. I'm glad that others are able to enjoy them too instead of sitting on a file being archived. I'll get more up when I get time. Some are better than others, but all have 60-66's trucks in them. I never get tired of looking at the different variations and uses of these trucks.
CaptainFab....Ruen Farms Inc was owned by a Mr. Vernon Ruen and it was in Clarkfork, Idaho. There are 4-5 pics from the same farm posted and I have a few more of the same location. Two of the pics I believe to be much later by the condition of the two trucks, but its cool in the fact that there are old pics of them being used and then pics of them after they have been long forgotten and used hard. They still get some views on here though. |

Heres a few more from the Ruen farm. I posted a few pics a page back on this farm. I see at least 2 different GMC 4000 trucks. I believe by the cab lights and hood turn signals that the GMC 4000 in these pics is the same, just 40 years or so later.

OK heres another 40-50 pics.
The 1st one has been posted before...a long time ago and I was unable to find the post. Its believed to be a military truck used to measure the radius of a bomb perimeter. The old thread varied on if this truck had quadrasteering...its hard to tell from the picture. I figured by posting it again it may generate some more information. |
