Re: 67c10 build

Alright time for some updates... Late January I took my motor to the builder and just as of yesterday I got it back. Got a little discouraged and didn't work on the truck much. Well the wait was worth it, I think it turned out great and sounds awesome! Fully assembled and tuned, to bad the trucks far from needing a motor that runs.

Did a powdercoat clear on my intake that I thought looked close to the original finish. All with hopes it stays nice. Also did my Sanderson headers in ceramic. If there is any locals I highly recommend performance coatings in Everett wa. The owner is Chris and does amazing work at very reasonable prices.

In my down time I searched daily for a hood. Finally found one and picked it up for a hundred. Very solid and drilled for lettering.

And now the motor... I was hoping to get more pics along the assemble but the builder was about 30miles north of me. Balanced 402 .030 over with forged pistons 9.5:1, complete new comps valve train with 280 cam, performer rpm manifold, Holley street avenger 770 carb, Sanderson bb truck headers, msd hei, and all billet specialties accessories.

My latest score was yesterday, put some parts on cl for trade for buddy buckets. So a set of doors and a few bucks got me a set of buddy buckets.

The engine looks really good.
Do they make an aluminum or stainless steel fuel rail for that carb?

67ctener 06-16-2013 07:25 PM

Re: 67c10 build

Yeah I bought a stainless braided steel one but didn't fit. The hoses are just temp. That and the orange t stat housing drives me nuts

Hope to have a trans here within a month. Kicked around the idea of an aluminum driveline if it'll fit through my cross member. Does anyone know?

It could be worse you could be in my position and have to do your entire build outside.
I would love to have a 2 car garage to fill up with my crap

Your very right could be worse. It rains here 360/365 so that would suck for me.

Re: 67c10 build

Motor looks great in the frame. Are those headers the Sanderson BB8? Could you do me a favor and take a picture of the driver side header where it bolts to the heads so I can see how much clearance the tubes have to the frame and also a picture of where the collectors sit. I'm having some clearance issues with the steering rack and shaft on my Dropmember with my Hedman headers.

Yes they are sandersons bb8s, I'll take a pic when I get home from work and upload it.

Ya, it's kind of a small space but I don't see much "crap" in there. Looks good man!

Re: 67c10 build

That air cleaner have a hose barb for a PCV circuit? If not I'd fab one up and ditch them breathers. Run a PCV in one valve cover and connect the other side to your air cleaner. One, it'll circulate clean, fresh air through your motor. Two, you won't have oily goo all over them sexy valve covers!
