met the dad of one of my 6-year-olds friends this week at a sporting event. we were chatting about hobbies. mentioned my c10 obsession. he said "oh my dad has an orange and white shortbed fleetside super". told him i need pictures! still waiting tho...

Yeah, the mirrors are factory and on the spid and the sliding window is from the factory too. . I have never seen any like them. I have got the 3/4 hub caps for it to put steelies on. Just leaving the American Eagles for now.

I think Chevyland was onto it - those appear to be factory camper mirrors, but rearward leg has been removed, that'd be why you've never seen any like em, they've been modified. Not a bad idea.

I never thought about that. whenever I take a door panel off I will look for the extra hole.

Yes, I did.
Came up on craigslist, and I saw it very quickly.
Was in the Central Valley, about five hours away.
Talked to the guy, agreed on a price
He offered to deliver it to me.
But asked,,what if you don't like it when I get there?
I asked him how much he wanted, non refundable deposit for the delivery.
Wired it to his account, and he showed up with the truck the next day.
Needless to say.
There wasn't a problem with me wanting the truck

I bought this 72 Super a few years ago. It's a low option truck. It was mostly stripped by PO. Technically I am second owner. The guy I bought it from bought it from original owner and never titled it. Just stripped it. I put it back together. It had a step bumper but was bent pretty bad, also the rear-end broke so it has a 3.73 from another truck. It was used in a Music Video by Tyler Wood... "Still Riding Shutgun". It's pretty rusty so I will probably never "restore" it. I put van 15x7 wheels on the front and Truck 15x8 on the rear. I recently had new dual exhaust done. I added a sliding rear window, tach, locking glovebox latch, etc.

Wow, you have a unique truck there. Factory Super Cheyenne short bed 4x4, bucket seats, tilt, etc.. and "Cab lights". First one I seen like that, cool! The original dark olive/white will look super sharp!

Thank you. It is a bit unique with the options and cab lights. I haven't seen many 1/2 ton short beds with them. When it is restored to the original colors and trim, it will be a sharp truck! Thanks again.

This truck was my second choice after Undertaker72's. Haha you literally beat me to it by one day. I was gonna call him to confirm buying it the day you posted your thread. My wife is from Sheridan, WY and wanted that truck because her family has dealt with Ed Hammer forever. This truck was Not a bad second choice though! :lol:

How many times do you miss one super only to have a higher optioned one in the wings?
I'll be leaving this one alone.
Maybe a good buffing and rockers, but that is about it

Just put a quadrajet back on, which performs much better than old edlebrock
And went back to original rims with full wheel covers

Eric , You find the good ones for sure! Factory installed sliding back window too. Just got home from Lake Shasta, man it's full. Fish were biting, people surfing behind boats, there were guys jumping off rock cliffs . I got to see all this from my easy chair in the shade. fun fun fun. take care, steve

Welcome Bobbed. Thanks for sharing. As there were no 3/4 ton swb trucks, interested in the truck's evolution. Got a SPID? VIN? Either a prev owner added some emblems or perhaps it's a shortened 3/4 with an axle swap (unlikely, lotsa work), or one of many different approaches to ending up with a swb 3/4 ton. Could be as simple as a real swb 1/2 ton truck that has had 3/4 ton emblems added. Thanks again, looking forward to hearing more on this truck - looks good btw.

I figured a good eye would catch the discrepancies and was waiting for this response.

I ran the VIN it's a C20. Previous owner had it shortened and the running gear converted. Rear axle is off a c10 with coil springs but converted to leaf. Seller advertised it as a C10 but when I saw the emblem I ran the VIN.

In this thread there are a few stepsides...... I've been doing some research and I came across some information that many people were under the impression that if you ordered a stepside you couldn't get side trim. Others said YES you COULD get side trim, very uncommon, but it stopped at the back of the cab and didn't continue back onto the bed. Some said it looked good, others didn't care for the look. Ok, with that being said, I'm surprised to see these highly optioned trucks with stepside beds did not come with any side trim. Anybody have info on side trim steppers? And, someone said something earlier in this thread about a D99 stripe option for stepside. What is that?

D99 is the upper paint stripe, it's not exclusive to steppers, could be ordered on fleets also. It's just a pinstripe approx where the upper trim strip goes.
