My new Ridetech HQ shocks showed up today (ordered them Thursday). It took me a couple of hours to get them installed this evening. After installing them I took it for a short ride, and believe it or not, I could feel a difference as I was backing the truck down my driveway. I only took it on a short drive, but I'm already impressed with the difference in the feel of the truck. I'm going to drive it to work tomorrow and I'll give a better report, but so far, I give them a big thumbs up! OBTW, a BIG THANKS to board member Crawdadfox for getting my order shipped quickly, :metal:. |
Re: 68 S/C update.....

On a different note, I changed out the axles hoping that the rear vibration/hop would go away but it didn't...:(. So I got to looking at the rotor/axle hub where the rear wheel bolts on and you can see where the wheel isn't bolting on centered. I think the CPP rotor is so thick that very little of the hub area is sticking out past the rotor, so the wheel is not centering up on the wheel flange. I have the cone style lugnuts but they are not forcing the wheel to center up, which is causing the rear to bounce. . Not really sure what to do now....:waah: |

Haven't done much to the 68 lately, I've been sick since Thanksgiving. I did develop/fabricate a bolt in pedal mounting bracket for the GEN III DBW gas pedals. Here's a link and a few pics. Let me know if you are interested in one.

Looks good! Which are the correct year/ model pedals for both brackets. I have your first design.

Sorry your not feeling for an extended time Rob, hopefully it will pass soon. I remember one christmas season where the whole family was sick on christmas weekend, miserable.
Great build, enjoy reading.....that rear end is a strange one, wish i had a suggestion to help. Very curious to find out the fix, as i m sure you are as well |
