The 6 speeded 4L80 though gives me a tight ratio 6 speed so I'm happy with that direction. You basically swap out the 1st and 2nd planetaries to slightly lower ratios and to make the gear combos make sense and then use a different valve body that can apply the OD clutch in 1st and 2nd as well as 3rd, so you get 1st, 1st+OD, 2nd, 2nd+OD, 3rd, and 3rd+OD. The valve body and TCM are from PCS.

Mine is going behind a 24 valve DOHC Trailblazer straight 6 with Weber DCOE pattern throttle bodies (though I may do actual DCOE Webers at first to get things going faster).

That sounds like a really sweet setup, :metal:.

Thanks Boosted. They are a custom setup I ordered from DD. It was more, but I can't remember how much. I'll have to check.

I ordered some new shocks from Ridetech today. I should have them by next week, :metal:.

Your welcome! Glad I could help and let me know if you have any other questions.

My new Ridetech HQ shocks showed up today (ordered them Thursday). It took me a couple of hours to get them installed this evening. After installing them I took it for a short ride, and believe it or not, I could feel a difference as I was backing the truck down my driveway. I only took it on a short drive, but I'm already impressed with the difference in the feel of the truck. I'm going to drive it to work tomorrow and I'll give a better report, but so far, I give them a big thumbs up! OBTW, a BIG THANKS to board member Crawdadfox for getting my order shipped quickly, :metal:.

Thanks. I bought a Rostra module and with the help of a boardmember, made it work.

I really like them. I'm currently waiting on Moser to send me some new axles to replace the incorrectly machined ones that I originally purchased from them. The bad axles were causing a vibration that I have been chasing for a while now. Once I get them swapped out, I'll be doing some more road testing with the shocks, :metal:.

Something like this?

More details would be great if possible... I am about to work on this same thing...
Thanks

I'm not familiar with that kit. We used kit 1858, it's for a DBW. I'm sure there are other kits that will work (possibly 1848), but I'm not sure. The biggest hurdle we had was converting the 4K PPM o/p signal from the computer to an 128K PPM i/p signal that the 1858 was looking for. After that, the only other issue I had was with LED tail lights.

Resistance issues or something to that effect?

Yes. The lights worked great without a resistor, but there wasn't enough resistance to allow the CC to "latch". When I put a factory bulb back in, the CC worked fine. I just need to add a relay to the CKT and then I can put the LED tail lights back in.

Were they Part #: 22189841 (rear) and Part #: 22149841 (front)? I didn't see anything pertaining to a different part number for a lowered truck.

Thanks!
Mark

Mark - measured the difference between mounting points on my front and rear shocks and then called Ridetech. They recommend the shock number that I should buy base off of those measurements.

On a different note, I changed out the axles hoping that the rear vibration/hop would go away but it didn't...:(. So I got to looking at the rotor/axle hub where the rear wheel bolts on and you can see where the wheel isn't bolting on centered. I think the CPP rotor is so thick that very little of the hub area is sticking out past the rotor, so the wheel is not centering up on the wheel flange. I have the cone style lugnuts but they are not forcing the wheel to center up, which is causing the rear to bounce. . Not really sure what to do now....:waah:

I actually read an post somewhere that said one of the axle tubes had tweaked under load and caused this same symptoms... This was a 1000hp truck... but who knows what it would actually take to tweak one...
Just a thought... I will see if I can find the post...

I don't believe it's an axle tube. This problem started when I rebuilt the rearend and added the rear CPP disc brakes. I had these wheels on with drum brakes and had no such problem. I'm pretty sure it's due to the fact that the wheels aren't centering up on the hub when I bolt them on. I'm going to pull a rotor off and bolt the wheel on and see if I still have the same problem.

Yeah I could see that being an issue as well...

Yes and I purchased Ridetech shocks made to fit the ride height of the truck.

Haven't done much to the 68 lately, I've been sick since Thanksgiving. I did develop/fabricate a bolt in pedal mounting bracket for the GEN III DBW gas pedals. Here's a link and a few pics. Let me know if you are interested in one.

Looks good! Which are the correct year/ model pedals for both brackets. I have your first design.

The one you have is for a Gen IV motor using the 05+ Corvette pedal. The new one is for a Gen III motor using the truck/suv DBW pedal.

Sorry your not feeling for an extended time Rob, hopefully it will pass soon. I remember one christmas season where the whole family was sick on christmas weekend, miserable.

Great build, enjoy reading.....that rear end is a strange one, wish i had a suggestion to help. Very curious to find out the fix, as i m sure you are as well
