ok how about some progress, fellow board member AJ gave me these GMC letters to use, I think I am going to put them on the floor rise by the tailgate, unless anyone has a better script out of a tailgate including the indented area around the script ?

Started working on the false floor also, it will be covered in Bed wood and Parts, exotic wood ! Compressors and tanks and battery/air ride will all be hidden under the false floor

Great progress, Mike!! Very talented and imaginative builder!

For those of us not in the know, what is a smooth top? I assume the stock top is "not smooth"? :)

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

yes most of the factory tops were textured, very few were actually smooth, this smooth top will be painted body color instead of the textured white

i think there was a guy on here that made his own chevy bowtie by plasmacutting it out of a thick piece of metal grinding it smooth and use inside and the outside to press the shapen in sheetetal using a hydraulic press

you could allso look intoo hydroforming , that uses a pressure washer
works the same way but you need two extra pieces of thick metal and the outside of the cutout and you prolly need to do it outside as water will flow out the mould
to get the sharper edges you stack it bottom plate where the waterjet fits intoo then sheetmetal , then the cutout then the topplate put bolts all trough them and aply waterpressure
