When is that?

Re: Daverods project 66

It was a couple of weeks ago. I think they still have one in the Fall, but I don't think it is as big as the one in the Spring.

I have an extra gauge console for a 57 Chevy Belair. I wonder if I could make it work in my 65 dash. Do ya think it can be done.?

You can do it. Dare to be different.;) Your in no rush anyways. I love how you just happen to have an extra. Did alittle more still have ? I'm guessing somekinda spacer? As for the header thing? thread bolt thread? Don't really know.

Dave

I am doing the same thing with the brackets. Look closely at the picture on post 2398. There is a small spacer between the bracket and the head. Those 2 holes should line up. In your last picture the hole in the bracket should line up with the front header bolt (they should line up if the top ofthe bracket lines up with the hole in the front of the head). You will need a spacer between the header and the bracket since the stock manifold is much thicker in that area. You could use a threaded stud in the head for the header bolt that is long enough to pass thru the bracket. At the header, use a nut and then another nut on the stud on the backside of the bracket, then another nut to clamp the bracket down tight. Hope that makes sense.

Re: Daverods project 66

You need to have a little spacer between the head and mount. There is a metal peice that goes between the exhaust flange and the mount.

For like $50 you can get a new mount off summit that's a lot better.

It makes sense. The thread nut thread thing is what I was thinking. Can you just buy those spacers? Like at lowes? I think I lost the one I had.

I think I have seen those types of spacers at Lowes. Another idea for the header side is to use a short stud in the head then a coupling nut cut to the right length, then a standard bolt thru the bracket.

Re: Daverods project 66

Why do you weld like that anyway?:lol: You need to switch to gas and get a proper helmet. And clean up the metal before you weld on it. It would also help if it was metal you where trying to weld and not two pieces of rust.:lol:

ruffrida2005 04-15-2011 12:33 AM

Re: Daverods project 66

Yeah that's what we were telling you. My mig with flux welds better then that. But atleast your grinding skills got better, And you could always cover it up with JB weld.
