Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I bought a 4 wheeler today. 2022 Yamaha Kodiak 700. Never owned a 4 wheeler before. We have about 5 acres of open ground next to my shop and we are going to build some food plots.
Should be fun. |

Just bumming around all weekend. It was snowing and blowing yesterday and been cold. I couldn't shift gears to some small projects inside. Good way to get fat. Brownies yesterday and truffles tonight.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
we had the same snow and wind yesterday, I did get a good amount of work done on my 71 yesterday, today was just off, still windy and cold but clear skies, nobody was out, I guess the weather and time change maybe!..i worked on some lawn equipment, went and got a battery for my lawn tractor, and some supplies from the hardware store to fix a table, nothing exciting:lol:..dreading the thought of getting up early to go to work tomorrow!

30* windy and snow friday. Sun and 40 saturday. 60 and sunshine all day today. My daughter came in late from south Louisiana with 3 dogs in friday's snow. What a change of weather for her. House full here. They left today.

Working on a wood chest. Got tired of switching the grits of sandpaper on the worn out sanding block and made 5 new sanding blocks. Put on a coat of mystery varnish. Also made a "tool" so that I can put the sandpaper into it and tear off the right size- 1/3 sheet. No pics, the finish isn't finished.

Scrounged some firewood yesterday, got it split & stacked in the woodshed today.

I shouldn't laugh. I did the same thing a couple days ago. I'm good on firewood until next year. It's already warming up here (73 degrees today)and some trees are starting to bloom. It's still cold at night. But it's not as cold. My firewood should last and it has time to really dry out. Older wood is the best. At least that's what I tell my wife. ;) |

I would think it would depend on it being a hardwood or a softwood?

Did my last batch of maple syrup yesterday . Replaced the PS cooler on the envoy while was u der the truck neighbor came by asked if I would be willing to take down some dead ash on the property line and his field . None have any dangers around them so should be easy to drop . About 15 mature trees so maybe 10 cord of usable wood . Also I'll be dropping a large cherry as it's pretty busted up from an ash that fell on it

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Oh, it isn't at all since the windshield comes half way over the intake. Not only do you have to drop the coolant, freon, fuel, trans fluid if auto and brake fluid. Then you get to raise the car enough to slide the engine, front suspension, and trans out as one unit. We did this in my low slung garage (7 foot at the lowest, 8 foot at highest) and on a day where it only got to 35 degrees in Atlanta. Fun Level = 3

after dragging the stock ramp racks on my quad trailer everywhere for 10 yrs, finally decided to get rid of it. never, ever used it, and it's about 150 lbs of excess weight the trailer can do without.
something like 90-100 torx screws to come out of the deck boards. surprisingly didn't strip or wreck a single one...:metal: Attachment 2177886 deck was TIGHT. even with the screws out i had to use a jack to force the first board out, then it went pretty good...hope they go back in as nice too Attachment 2177888 so many times i've dragged this or hooked on rocks or stumps... the backstop bracket is completely welded in and no where for water to go...be glad to get rid of this. will re-paint the underside and a couple coats of sealer on the boards. Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies. (again) My wife keeps eating them. I guess I will have to hide this batch.... .. I like mine a little darker than she does so I leave some of them in the oven a little longer. If I can find some shredded coconut I am going to make some Dark Chocolate Mounds or Almond Joy bars. That's one of the problems living in a small town. Limited supply of some things. LockDoc |

finally rid of the ramp rack....can't belive it only took me 10 yrs to ditch it..
threw the rack on a scale, 154 lbs now eliminated. might not sound like much, but the kid's new quad is 400 lbs heavier than his old one, which had us running within a couple hundred lbs of load limit. now we got a little more play in there. trailer popped up about 2 inches with the deck off. Attachment 2178021Attachment 2178022 washed the frame and boards, let 'em sit for a couple days then repaint and seal Attachment 2178023 just for the halibut, decided to run the cut-off wheel over my fingers...
