Nice job! I had done the same on the jockey shifter of an old Harley. Most beer tap handles are too long inside the truck but that one fits nicely.

Thanks! Yeah, I machined a mini Budweiser tap handle, but even that was still too long...it got in the way of a few things. It was good practice for the porcelain one above.

Nice.
Any gotcha's on the install?
Did you end up using the kit's heater control valve? I have read that you should use a heater bypass control valve instead on the LS motor's just not sure how important it really is.

I did the driver's side a while ago, but am not happy with the outcome. So looks like I'm going to have to redo it. Hopefully the inner fender will be salvageable.

Thanks. The tubs are just a couple regular trailer fenders from tractor supply.

I just bought a 1966 GMC 1-ton. It is low mileage, the owner says that the 9800 on the odometer is correct. It runs by pouring gas in the carb and today I pulled the tank. UCK, nasty and rusty. Ordered a new tank and sending unit today. I will start a build thread and post some pictures. It is an original stake bed with the original sides.

Blew a freeze plug. lol And ended up pulling the dang motor because it needed new front and real main seals and new gaskets anyhow. SO I have a new gasket set coming and will take the engine apart and clean all the sludge out and reseal and repaint. Oh, Here is a picture of the clutch and pressure plate. They look fine right? :waah:

Started varnishing my bed wood on Saturday. It started to bubble a little at the surface. Thinking it is because of heat. Will nock it down with some steel wool and give it another coat.

American Eagle is the premium version of Champion. It has larger 1 inch tubes.
Champion 2 row has .75 inch tubes.

Is this just stained plywood? Looks great, whatever it is! I'd like to duplicate.

The bed is made up of "common wood" boards from Home Depot that have been stained and sealed with Olympic Maximum stain and sealant in one. The door over the airbag system is plywood with the same stain/sealer.

Thanks!

Dropped the car off at my father-in-laws place. He lives about an hour north of Auckland.

Car isn't road legal, but borrowed my neighbors "dealer" plate which allows me to drive it place to place even though it's not road legal.

Was good to get it out on the freeway, drove pretty good!

Father in law is going to replace all the brake lines, brake pipes, all 4 drum brakes and master cylinder.

Also going to install the driveshaft loop, radiator shroud (getting a custom one made), and hopefully my electrical issues.

Will update once done! So close to getting on the road legally!
