The next two pics show a close up of the gauges. I ordered them with a white background, with dark green numbers and hash marks, red pointer. The green going with the outside color of truck. At night they light up bright, when you turn on your headlights.
I'm very pleased with how everything looks. Another thing I like about the gauges is they have a 340 degree swipe, compared to the less that half on the old 4 small gauges. Lot easier for an old man to read...Jim Sorry I forgot to add that I had them program the odometer with the same milage my old gauge had. |
Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Nice choice, they look good Jim.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Anytime Dad Glad to help!
Another thing on the gauges speedo is GPS,with 1/4mile,60 ft,top speed, direction, elevation. The fuel gauge can be programmed to work with Any sending unit on the market. Mark |
Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Jim, Really updating the OL Girl HUH! I like those Speed Hut Gauges but then I liked the Classic Gauges too. What's Next? Ray

How is it going Jim? Everything OK? You have been absent from your build - Ray

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Awesome paint work again!
Good choise on the gauges, specially when they light up. Great match! And Yes, I’m with Ray, everything okay?? |
Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
love the gauges jim, they look like electroluminescent. I bought a focus SVT for my daughter that had EL lighting, and I worked in aerospace where EL was a standard for instrument panel labels. It is very clear and no hots spots! I love how they match the truck too.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Are those Speedhut Jim? It's important to have good looking instruments when you spend time behind the wheel. The backlit numbers at night is a nice touch.
EDIT: I just went back and read the previous page and saw that the gauges were indeed from Speedhut. I'm running their GPS speedo too, it's awesome... |

Yes everything is OK, I just can't get enough time to make much headway. It's all wet sanding from this point. Hopefully this week I'll get going...Jim |

Jim, didn't want to stir anything up. Just worried because you hadn't posted any updates! Sounds like you have it under control. Later Ray

Well, I got a couple pics to show. Got both doors done by hand with 2,000 paper, and today used the palm sander DA with 3,000 and 5,000 pads. Then I used a new wool pad to buff with the stage 1 material. Doors still need to be buffed with stage 2 and stage 3 material. I'm happy so far with how it looks...Jim

I also use Wizards products, I've had really good luck with them over the years.
