:waah: My life sucks. Coming home for lunch, never saw it comining. I always thought I was a good driver. Went to cross the road never saw a big black explorer. Got a big knot on my head, the other driver was ok. It only wrecked her bumper. Still can't believe I never saw her.:waah: Good thing I just paid my insurance. Least she'll get her stuff fixed.:waah: New bumper, two fenders, radiatior, grill, grill support, inner fenders.:waah: A speical thanks to the guy who stopped short and waved me accross.

Re: Daverods project 66

 When I come out of my coma.;) Started takin parts off, with my cutting wheel.:waah: I think I'll take some parts from my 66. Grill support, radiatior support. Might be able to bend the passanger fender into shape. The drivers side needs a new front part. I needed a new radiatior anyways. I have some extra hood hinges. I can fix the hood. What kinda grill do you have Paul? Drivers fender?Grill support? Dont care about rust I have a lot of patch panels.:uhmk:

ruffrida2005 05-05-2011 11:43 PM

Re: Daverods project 66

I've got the same grill that you go. I think the grill support is in good shape. The drive fender has one little rust out in it. It sucks not having my parts at my house though.

Re: Daverods project 66

If you drove down to texas you can take the whole front clip and cab back with you.

Re: Daverods project 66

Daverod there is a guy in Riverside outside of Blackfoot that has a lot of parts. His name is Lyle Hansen. He has a shop in town and has a pretty good selection of trucks. If I remember right one has a AC cab. His number is 680-2464. I got some sail panels from him and a glove box and some door pulls for 40 bucks. I think he is pretty fair. Good Luck!!!:chevy:

Thanks Guys. It does suck but life goes on. I must be feeling better because this morning I started ripping it apart.:mm: You know I always look twice, I did that time too and both times she was in a blind spot hid by other cars. I had to go pay my ticket this morning. I was so nervous I thought everyone was going to hit me. I think I just turned into one of those people that goes like 5 mph everwhere they drive,;) No I wasn't on my phone. Thats what I hate the most.

Re: Daverods project 66

Re: Daverods project 66

Can we call you a knot head now???? Glad you are ok!! :ito:
Just a suggestion ... but now might be a good time to upgrade the brakes from the old single cylinder to a dual cylinder or maybe power discs..:chevy:

daverod 05-07-2011 10:15 AM

Re: Daverods project 66

As if I don't have enough stuff to buy. Whats the diff between single and dual?

With dual cylinders you have separate brake lines for front and back brakes systems.
It has less chance of having all the brakes quit if a leak happens. Better hydraulic pressure to the wheel cylinders means it stops better faster and possibly less knots on your head in the future.

We are only overpaid when we have work , and work is kinda slow these days...

daverod 05-07-2011 10:27 AM

Re: Daverods project 66

;) Sad thing is I never touched the brakes. Maybe a new windshield would help. Something in a x3

daverod 05-07-2011 10:34 AM

Re: Daverods project 66

I think I need a parts truck.:waah:

watahyahknow 05-07-2011 10:39 AM

Re: Daverods project 66

dont think those wouldve made the stopping better at such a short distance but it does make things safer against tumping full strenght on the brakes one day at any speed and have the single master cylinder fall and the pedal move to the floor without any stopping happening ( allways happens at the worse possible moment ) , maibe 3 point seatbelts too to protect the noggin from hitting the wheel again ?
