Thanks for all the comments.

Been busy at the shop and haven't had no time for the 57, had some time to today so we cut and buffed the quarters.

almost too pretty...i'd be skeered to mess it up ....i never owned black until my '66 & then my S-10, both of which i currently have...luckily both are far from perfect, so i don't worry too much....still gotta love a flawless black paint job though

I just made the mistake of showing my wife your buffing job....
I think her expectations of me just shot thru the roof.

That mirror finish is amazing, I would love to know how you did it!

Thanks.........Here you are, so you have no excuses with the wife. ;) Keep in mine my truck has four coats of clear and stay away from the edges.

Wet sand with a paint paddle with 1000, wash, 1500, wash, 2000, wash, then DA with trizact 3000, wash, then cut with Presta Ultra Cutting Cream at 3000 rpm with a white waffle pad, wash, then cut it again, wash, then polish with 3M Ultrafine Machine Polish at 2500 rpm with a blue polishing pad, wash, and repeat polishing till you wear your buffer out..........:haha:

Awesome work man! I think I will get the wife in on this polishing gig tho....
