Re: PO has me PO'd
Also installed my NOS flywheel pan i bought off our board, used studs as i m rather attached to them (pun intended) just have to use some goo be gone on the masking tape
Waiting on in line tube to return one section of brake line, they sent it to me with the wrong fitting on it, thought i could just reflare, but no such luck. Broke my flaring mandrel, now i have to somehow replace that as well. Oh well, just another day in the shop, glad to be back! https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5337/...793ebefe_c.jpg 20150421_184146 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/people/97391199@N06/] |

Lots of good progress and hitting a wall always is rough.
Quick question regarding your hubs. The round retainer with the holes did you line up the hole with the nub on the first locking nut? |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Jim,
Its just a random pic I found but it may very well be it, her , him, whatever in a few years. One never knows. I will be curious to see how the white turns out since I have the slots saved for the panel truck. I just figured since the inside edges of the holes on the slots were black (at least on mine) it would be the right way to go( for me anyway) but always open to different ideas. I guess I have seen to many of the rice burners lately with the brite colors showing through the wheels. Richard |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Question regarding your Bilstein install. I just installed a set on my Jimmy. I installed them with the black boots facing down since the Bilstein sticker would be upside down otherwise. No install info came with the shocks. I had my previous shocks mounted like yours with the boot up. I've seen shocks installed either way so don't know if their is a right or wrong. Do you know of any advantage/disadvantage to either way of installing them?
Thanks |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Ok, just talked to Bilstein, you re right, shock should be installed with correct orientation to the sticker. Guess I have to change mine and ty for bringing it to my attention

Re: PO has me PO'd
are the Bilsteins gas charged? My Fox shocks are and they mount with the body up.

May have run into another problem, as one of the brake drums seems to have a crack running all the way around it |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Just gotta say rock autos return policy is second to none... called them with complaint, they emailed a shipping label, dropped the part off at FedEx, new part is on the way. They paid postage both ways, what a company, will buy from them again
|
Re: PO has me PO'd
Did you notice the crack before you painted it? That probably would not make me happy if I saw it afterwards
