Our local Kawanis Club has a raffle every year for a weekly drawing for a firearm. Last year I won a nice Ruger 22 Rifle. This year I won a little pocket gun.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Do you have a golden horseshoe up yo..... I was saying, congratulations. I used to go to a Ruritan gun raffle and this one guy seemed to win an awful lot. Of course we gave him a hard time about it
|
Re: My Facetruck thread.
oh, you're one of those guys that wins the raffle every year :ito:
those are handy little guns, I have a couple of them.. not pretty but they serve their purpose.. picked one up from a guy for $75 that was just a little banged up.. figured it would be perfect for a farm truck, tractor, tool box in the barn, etc.. I bought one in .380 back in 2014 and it's still in the box in the shopping bag I brought it home in  probably drop that one in my daughter's purse when she sets off to college :smoke: |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Nice kitchen! She should be happy for awhile 🙂. Congrats on the handgun

I'll have to say she brought this thing in under budget and it is a much more usable space. Her painter is coming tomorrow to finish the living and dining room. She was looking for the number to her wrought iron guy while ago. She is going to change all the handrail out to iron. |

My dad gave my youngest daughter a .little .22 revolver. When she lived in St Petersburg, FL it was stolen when someone broke into her house. When my mother passed, I found another nice stainless S&W .22 revolver in their safe. I gave it to my daughter. KB I have been doing some moonlighting of my own. WE are building a pool at the kids house in our "spare time". I will get some pics. |

Well I got a couple of pics tonight.
The three of us have done everything so far, but we are bringing our concrete crew out to Thursday to plaster the bottom. I want to get this thing done so I can get back on my K10. |

If I knew that I had a doctor riding with me I likely WOULD jack myself up! At the local shopping center there's a chiropractor office that has a real nice Ducati in the lobby. The Doc is an avid rider / collector and most Sundays during the summer, as many as 30 - 40 bikes will meet up outside his office before heading out for a ride. I never really thought much about it but looks like a little work preservation program happening over there! |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
I bet you're right! Especially sport bike riders in prone position with their head cocked back to upright. That has to play havoc on the neck vertebrae, discs, and such.
They told me dirt bikes were for riding in the dirt. And that's what I do. I ride myself right into the dirt every time! You know, if you ain't riding hard you ain't ridin' sort of thing. I am careful around objects though. I'd like to think I'd be less aggressive if I ride now. Been years. |

Re: My Facetruck thread.
thanks fellas, and with all due respect, bite your tongue Dale
crossing our fingers and everyone is on watch :) that's the contractor there in front of the tree, our slab is plain but he's done a lot of really nice work in our neighborhood.. fair pricing and drinks cheap beer  be the weekend before we can dance on it but looking good, major improvement.. and my neighbor is a general, framing specialty.. he said that post had to go so they temped that brace and will clean it up later.. you can see the old beam bracket about 24" from left side.. when they can jack the beam with a temp post, they can level everything with a ledger or brace, whatever looks better.. no idea why the previous builder landed a post that close to the corner of the house  https://dl.dropbox.com/s/57o26iemqd0..._4860.jpg?dl=0 |

Nice work fellers! I don't have any pretty pictures. I had to hand dig a bit more than 50' of foundation under the edge of a slab to a carport I'm closing in. My son helped me on 90% of that. Got the footer inspection on Thursday, formed the foundation up Friday, and poured Monday. "Poured Monday" sounds so simple. Due to various circumstances there was no concrete truck involved. It was mixer, 80# bags, wheelbarrow, & 5 gal. buckets. I spooned that foundation and that is about all I want to say about that whole venture :cuss:
Had to work with that 16"o.c. deck framing. I considered adding footers and a beam and cutting it back the joists! There was a sandstone vein through there, too. Too soft and would break up by the time you dug around it. Rather than leave it be We had to pick those chunks out of the hole. I had to tunnel back 4' under each of the two front walls I framed. Fun fun. I am so glad to be done with this foundation. Here's the dirty end of the job |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
I love how when you look at a finished job it looks so easy..Like there was nothing to it.
No one will ever understand the amount of labor that was involved. |

When we got everything graded, we had our concrete guys come and pour the bottom of the pool. When they were finished, the foreman said "Now I remember why we don't build pools anymore.".
We got a little closer this week. I hauled a couple of loads of gravel today so we could grade for the deck this weekend. |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
looking good Larry, got my trunks and beach towel ready!
I really like that mack.. fuel range make it to lone jack? pulled forms today and a little cleanup.. trying to decide what kind of grass and sprinklers :waah: grade and fall is perfect without drains, cell phone wide shot distorts a lot.. https://dl.dropbox.com/s/qhx473ry5by..._2953.jpg?dl=0 |
Re: My Facetruck thread.
Mack's take some getting used to, but once you get settled into one they are great trucks. I haven't driven that one much, so I still rake a gear once in a while. That old dude has some power. If you can ever get out of traffic, and into high gear, you just sit back and drive.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Your pool house is bigger than than the kids.
I built that little pool house about 12 years ago for my granddaughter a playhouse. It had a loft and kitchen in it (tiny house). Then my grandson used as his fort. He actually used it more than she did. Now another wave of grandkids is coming along, down in the central part of the state, and my wife is planning building projects for the kids down there for week after next. |
