A few more details (teasers) for ya. I had my upholstery guy make these custom visors. On my last build I thought it would look cleaner without visors. It did look cleaner but kind of sucked driving into the sun.
The material is the same as the inserts in my seats. Its cool to see all these details come together and the pile of boxes of parts dwindle down. Marc |

Picture tease....
I have been struggling with a brake issue but I think I have it figured out. I have been busy working on other aspects of the build. I have 80% of the carpet pad and carpet in. I have more of my glass in. Oh and there is this....... First time I had the wheels and sheet metal mounted to confirm there are no clearance issues. No easy task when laid out over 22's. The tire size is 265 x 40 x 22. That is 30.35" dia. Marc |

looking good.
Those wheels have a similar design to the Pontiac Rally 2 wheels, with the raised 'spoke' look, but stretched ...........very nice. Can't wait to see it all together on the road |
Re: 53 Surburban "Family Truckster"
i looks illusory, like there isnt enough room at the top for the tire to be round! crazy cool!

Well another goal missed...I had been thrashing for about a week to be able to pick my son up from school on this last day from middle school but I ran out of time. I have made some progress tho. I started assembling the interior so I can mount my rear seats. Once I finish that I will throw in at least one back seat and try to get some miles on it this weekend. We have some grad parties to go to and I thought it would be fun for the family to bomb to that in the "Truckster".
Oh the cover in the back is to cover the watts link that will come thru the floor when aired out. I showed it a while back but it probably makes more sense seeing it in position. Once the rear seat is in place you wont really see it. I sill have some odds and ends like a transition strip where the floor meets the body back by the rear cargo doors. I went with German square weave carper in a gray tone. I plan to make some nice large floor mat's once I see how much carpet I have left to work with. Have a great weekend and get out in the garage and get something done. |

Well its time.....I bring to you "The Family Truckster".
I decided to hit up our hometown car show with my son Austin on Saturday. We decided at the last minute to go. The drive wasn't perfect and it helped identify areas of improvement that are needed but it was fun to get peoples reaction. I have 2 of the three rows of seats mounted. I like looking past the weathered paint and distress into the nice new interior. Oh and it is also dog approved as seen by "Cinder" The list for this week. * Swap out the master cylinder. * Install the side glass. Thank you Marc |
