And I am thinking hard on having a sign shop do something on the doors, maybe in the Retro Rita vein.

What size tires are you running?

Thanks. Everybody says that 275s will fit a step but your pictures are the first proof I have seen. Lots of 275 pics on Fleets. I was afraid to go bigger than 255 but not now. I'm planning the same wheels with different caps and mine is on 4" rear springs. I was thinking 7 inch front wheels with 235/60s since I only put 2" springs up there. I couldn't afford dropped spindles when I did the suspension and I had to get it together to get it home from where I purchased it.

Got some new pix today. I've cleaned it up, it's got decent tires on it. The tire shop mounted the stripes out, but I didn't quibble. They are more or less correct for this era truck, and they give it a little pizazz since it doesn't have any side molding. I got the doors to close all the way, put on new exterior door handles and a driver's side mirror. The interior shot was taken a couple months ago before I bought it, but the exterior shots are new. I wish it really looked this good, but you don't have to get very close to it to start seeing the RUST!

There are a lot of great trucks here. Giving me many ideas on what to do with my new toy, picked up this week off a dealers back lot, should I keep the 292 or change for something bigger. Any tips for a new poster.

Depends on what you want. Keep looking and getting ideas and you'll decide if you want to keep it stock, heavily modify it, or go in between with a "resto-custom". Mine will stay almost completely stock, but I love to see what others have done and I'm all for it! :chevy:

X2...There are a lot of things to consider. What is your technical ability? How large is your wallet? Do you like things to go together the way they were meant to or do you like to keep messin around with something until it's "good enough"? How much time do you have? How much space do you have? Do you have V8 envy?:lol: Personally, I would leave it. I have a 350 w/400TH but I would have been fine with a 6 cylider with 3 on the tree. I'm kinda goofy that way...I have a soft spot for the things other guys don't like.
