Right you all are. I was walking along while I spotted this D100 and thought to myself: "Wait a minute, something's wrong here...". Someone must have been missing the Dodge's original rear fenders and decided GMs would look just as good...

If you look at the bed it is a home made wood box with what looks to be an aluminum frame, the GM fenders look way better than the Dogg fenders anyway. A definite improvement.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II

You all have to remember- this photo was taken in Israel, where classic American trucks like that are nowhere near as common as in the USA. It's come to the point where people are now starting to import classic trucks, not just Mustangs and Camaros.

That D100 is a VERY rare sight, especially if you consider the fact that back in the 1970s, those Dodges were constructed here in Israel! The parts were being flown here from America, and the final assembly was done here in Israel. It all has to do with Israel wanting to maintain an industry of any sorts (i.e., "even" a motor industry would do…), but was bound to purchase agreements (from the USA- as part of the financial agreements between the two countries).

When I was growing up, you could see these Dodges everywhere... they're all but gone now.

Thanks.

BTW, there was a later connection with GM, as Israel used a Diesel V8 to power this (self-engineered):

See the Specs:

I had the misfortune of driving one of them, and it was oh-so-terrible; It constantly aspired to roll over, like a bull trying to throw you off its back... Some of them actually did that, and there is a memorable incident when a solder crashed into a civilian car and killed a young couple... They stopped producing the Abir not long after that.

Because of the financial agreements I mentioned above, Israel still needed to buy American products, so quite ironically, parallel with the Abir, the army used these, which you'll undoubtedly recognize..:

Of course, they were painted in different colors...

OK, back to the thread.
:)

I've been getting lots of good and useful info here and forgot to ever post up my truck.
It's a driver, (picture make's in look cleaner than it really is) lot's of work done already and I'm just about to swap out a new engine.

I'm with Big Daddy on this one. The drop with those steelies and white walls would look killer. Chrome reverse and moons were very popular in the 60's. My first custom wheels were the same.
