I finshed sanding the underside of the hood today. I was going to paint but the weather did not get warm enough 45 here today. I did get all the sand out of the ribs.

Today, I painted the underside of the hood. It came out real sweet.

I also painted the hood latch and the door hinges.

Next week sometime I want to paint the two doors. I have to figure a way that I can hang the door without leaving a spot that is not painted.
The weather was really nice and warm today. almost 80 so I took the hood and hinges out in the sun and let the sun bake the paint.

Re: 1968

Is the whole door going to be orange? Could you hang it by a sturdy hook that runs up into the top of the window seal area? With a larger mouthed hook, you might be able to get the paint in behind it. Just my two cents. Mine'll be two tone, so I shouldn't have that issue.

Hood looks slick, by the way. Good to see lots of paint going on. Still working towards getting the rest of the cab this coming week?

Re: 1968

George you can hang it by a bolt with a large washer screwed into the door hinge plate.

Today I installed the rear bed sill on the bed. I also got the 1 1/2 x 1 inch square tubing to raise the bed the 5 inches.

I needed a side walk to my shop so I poured concrete today also. 42''x14'

I used some fine sand paper to sand the primer on both doors. I also painted the doors orange. They came out real slick. I am satified with the out come.

Good lookin' orange paint, George. Glad my suggestion worked. I was about to post something about liking Brian's suggestion better, actually, but I'm glad it worked out. They look pretty dang good. Something about an orange door makes me think there should be a big 01 on it, though.

There's something satisfying about pouring concrete, too. Plus, no more muddy feet in the garage!

I know the company that makes the paint calls it something else but to my eyes it's hugger orange and you just can't go wrong with it.

It is actually kubota orange. the same as the equipment you see everywhere.
My Son bought it for another project and never used it. So I tried it and liked it. so you know the rest of the story.

I started sanding the primer on the cab today. I got to repaint the inside of the cab, so I started with that. I got all the inside of the cab done except the dash. I am going to paint the whole thing at one time. It will be a lot to paint at one time but what the hey it is only orange. I hope sometime this week if the weather works with me and it don't rain again and raise the huminity.

Wow George wow... I've read this entire tread over the past couple days, forcing myself to stop each time! You serve as a great source of inspiration, and the speed at which you're building this is amazing!

Keep it up, I can't wait to her when she's finished. Subscribed! :metal:

Well, we have whales here. I got the cab and front clip painted. here are a few pictures of my work. Got a couple runs but lucky they are in a place I can remove them in the future.
I don't know if you can see them. They are on back of the truck. I might not remove them. The bed will cover them up.
