Must be on 20 old truck groups or more.
Everytime I see an old jimmy pic I lift it.
The amount of old gold is amazing.

West coast retro truck pics is a favorite of mine.

Cool trucks.

Especially like the GMC in the 3rd picture.

Looks like a 6500 with that Front Bumper on there.

Would have a 478 in it, '64 or '65 model.

Typical West Coast truck with the Budds.

I don't think I ever noticed that Turbine is running big singles before. That's quite a leap into the future even before truck radials. The reason those never went into production is those mirrors were so wimpy

Super singles are ok in concept. But suck in everyday use.
Get a flat on the road, bring a rim too.
No ability to limp off thr interstate with a flat.
Give me duals any day thank you very much.

Makes you wonder if that's why it took so long for them to come to market? Nobody wanted those drawbacks. I wonder more about tire wear on super singles. Wide tires on wide wheels for cars & pickups tend to be overinflated (even at the recommended pressure) & wear prematurely in the center of the tread.

I agree, only Duals for me too.

Even on a 1-Ton.

Re: GM Semis

I always thought the same thing, you lose that "grace period" the second tire gives. Doesn't seem as safe. Also, wide tires tend to get steered by the road surface. And one other thing, them puppies can't be too cheap as well as wheels. It's not like used wheels would be nearly as plentiful either. Every road tire service outfit can't always have those readily available like the good ole duals. I was just noticing this one had them way back then for the first time fter seeing that picture a lot. I have it saved, too. That was aa long time before you saw them being run and even before radials

I gave up on trying to not duplicate. Well, I try, but not worried about it. I won't complain if you don't. Thanks for showing all that you do all that you do do.

I wonder how many of these Lowes bought?

Wonder what plant those C series mediums were being built at was.

The tandem axle Kodiak looks like an old Lowe's truck.

I think that Cannonball is the one that has been done since the '90s. I believe it's home was in Maine or Ontario. I used to see it at N/E shows and it was featured in Pickups & Panels In Print, which was the bi-monthly for the National Chevy GMC Truck Assoc before it folded in the late-90s. I haven't seen it in years and hear folks talking about it. If I remember, I'll bring it up at the ATHS show this weekend
